I can and believe it. Plus understand 100% Pauli!
At this point it is all speculation whether anything would have helped your crash.
BUT, for a smidge over $100 are you going to get some armor now?

Yes Mike, I got your VM.

Where is Ray when you need him. I don't think Springer's moment of glory was caught on film. We will just have to look at yours and pretend it's Pauli.
Guest200901
Nope, no pics of the face scrub
B. Apold
Fly helmets do the job, but there junk. I have one and I'm ditching it and using my Simpson road race helmet.

The armor helps for certain falls, but Pauli's probably wouldn't have helped much. Hard to say though.

I've been soaking up allot of this bmx crash stuff as of recent. Life is to hard to do it with injuries. I hate living life that way, but its reality...

Jay and polish hounds. I should have pics of the Ambrosia's polished out soon. You won't believe this isn't chrome plated. Its insanely cool. I've got along way to go, but I'll have it all done at the Condo event. I even sanded the flanges on the Phils and got rid of the machine marks. Anyway....

Maybe we will have to bring out the bubble wrap for the Condo Classic. huh.gif

I was just curious if you need surgery to bring the torn ligaments back together(as shown in the diagram illustration) or do they fuse back together naturally??

No surgery, they fuse back together in time.

Don't wear them fancy bubble pants if you are going commando.
Paul Springer
When I first saw those I thought of Freddy Mercury & Mark Conley (not necessarily in that order).
scott Boecker
Ok , its BARN CALL time , Who's all going tonight. I know pauli wont be there because he is hurt and I know Brad wont be there because he is afraid he will get hurt . Well it looks like it will be just me and the youngsters tonight. tongue.gif

I agree, git'r done. The sooner you can get it out of the way the better. I am fine with going down, its part of racing man. I knew the risks up front, bowling & badminton just doesn't get me excited as much as BMX.
Paul Springer
Man I love this sport...

It was sooooo great to be back to the track. It was a great night of racing. In 41-45 there was Russ, Scott & Ty for total points. Russ took the first moto, Scott took the second moto and the main was AWESOME. Scott got a perfect gate and pulled Russ down the first straight. Scott lead most of the race and you could tell Russ was waiting for something to happen, Scott led approaching the final rythm straight away. All of a sudden Russ saw an oppurtunity and it was a photo finish at the wire going to Russ, totally sweet racing. I had so much fun I think I am going back to watch again tomorrow. smile.gif

Sounds like a good time for sure.. Wish I was there..

Hats off to Pauli for being at the track one week after his little mishap. You look and sound like you are doing really well. Now you just have to get that shoulder all healed up.

Last night was a total blast. I was looking forward to a rematch. I was suffering through a mental problem due to my failed gate in the main of our last race. Practice was shaky and I just needed to get the first competition gate out of the way. Russ is a blast to race with. We've had some good battles lately. It was really fun to go into the main with the finish deciding the winner. In moto 2 I nailed a great gate and I was on it again in the main. I pulled Russ down the first straight and used the edge of the triple to help hold the lead into the first turn. Now all I had to do was have two good rhythm sections and I had the win. I had a little mistake just as I entered the rhythm the second time and Russ is so fast through that section I knew it would be close. That is the kind of racing I can’t get enough of. Congrats on the win Russ.
B. Apold
Sounds like you had fun racing. Good deal!! I'll probably do some riding in December. This time of year is so busy for everyone. Looking forward to the Condo gathering. That should be fun too. Its my daughter's 2nd Birthday on 1-4-08, so I'll be a little in some form.

Mark, the Condo classic is a bring OS bike night correct?
King of Pipeline
I've been riding.. Slippers and all...
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Now that looks like an accident waiting to happen.
Paul Springer
Lookin good Pipe, now I know two dudes in the fuzzy slipper club.

I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that the Grand Nationals are going to be webcasted for free through www.go211.com Fri, Sat & Sun. I was thinking of having some people over if anyone is interested. Fire up the high speed wireless on da laptop, hook the LCD projector up on the wall, tie in some speakers and watch the super bowl of BMX. Let me know if anyone is interested...

Sunday might work. I was thinking about racing sometime this weekend. Is the barn open for racing or is this an off weekend with the holiday and the Grands going on? I forgot to ask when we were there Saturday.
Paul Springer
No racing this weekend I am told by Conroy.

2pm would work. I'd guess the AA pro thing is pretty much nipped in the butt for Stumpy since Harris is out with injuries?

I'd like to see Lyndsay and Moe in National form kick'n butt. It must be exciting racing at that event. I watched some footage from last year and the tracks are insane. I also watched some NBL tracks and they look really tricky... and the lips on the jumps... man!!! toe clips? not a chance on my feet.
Paul Springer
Its been an interesting week being laid up with injuries. The kids are off for 9 days and Maddi has a gingerbread man she needs to decorate for school. She was pretty quite last night working on her project and guess what she made.

I have been bored to death watching the tube and surfin da web. This has been my view for the last few days.

It is definetly slipper season!
King of Pipeline
What city is the viewing in... If anything that will be cool to watch.. I'm going to check out that website right now...
bnd
Friday night NAG challenge & Pro Spectacular would be the thing to watch. I think it's only 2 hrs long packed with the top racers & racing. The ABA site should have a schedule.

Sounds like I created a monster getting the Ayatolla of Rocka Rolla..........the warrior of the wastelands........back into racing! He's going to be insufferable after a few more wins! wink.gif

So that's 3 for 3 for Russ. Any of you guys going to step up & break the win streak?

b.
Paul Springer
Ayatolla of Rocka Rolla, Bruce your a KOOK and Russ told me why ALL THE WAY HOME FROM THE TRACK ON SATURDAY. It was a fun 45 minutes rollin in the Saab.

How is mom & dad holding up there? Please, no more stories about the golden showers...

RUMOR or FACT
I was talking to someone at the track Sunday and it sounds possibly that the random starts are coming to Rehbeins along with no crossing lanes straight out of the gate. This will be an interesting one to adjust to.
King of Pipeline
random starts.. what is that?
bnd
Remember how Bevis & Butthead sat on the couch watching vids? That's Russ & I when it comes to any Arnold movie from the 80's, esp "Commando" or Mad Max 1 & 2. That guy can quote lines out of the Terminator pretty good too.

"Hey Scully, remember when I said I was going to kill you last? Yeah Matrix, you did, you did! Well, I lied!" tongue.gif

Hey Paul, I hope the shoulder is healing up. I have Russ's crash from 1997 around here, I'll try to post it up seeing I don't have to go back to work for another week, yeah!

b.

Paul Springer
Bruce, you guys have to be the best buds ever. Russ told us the exact same story about Mad Max at the track this past weekend. LOL!

He also said that you have the video of him blowing out his shoulder that you would likely post up, I am anxious to see it.

I am healing well, going a little stir crazy having to sit still for so long. I am going to have to up my vicodin & ritalin dosage. (jk)
King of Pipeline
OH,, random like that.. so you can't jump the gate type thing...
I get in now.. I think.... So the ABA site is where you start to view the races then?
wds
I'd read that ABA was making a 30ft lane rule. Both for the start AND the finish. I was wondering how that would work at Rehbeins. It's such a compact area that after 30 ft, you're dang near at the first jump. Plus, the outside lanes are pretty rough. It'll be interesting for sure.
Random Gates, I'll just say that my gates are bad enough that it'll have little effect on me. But I sort of look forwards to seeing how that'll work.
-Bill
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
The 30' rule at the barn would eliminate lane one for sure. The guy that starts there needs to move over or go backwards down the second straight.

BND - after riding Russ' bike, I know it's not the rider. biggrin.gif Pauli is right, we hear a lot about you and Russ. Now we know that he's the normal one. tongue.gif You guys have a great friendship. I'm glad Russ came out to join us.
