Did you bring the bike to work? Nothing better for the pain than some riding at the barn tonight. Can you make it?

Jay, the best thing you can do is ride. You need to practice a few times and get it back, and then hit the races.

Pauli and I are coming tonight. Hannah too. I'm going to spend most of the night helping her.

Looks like some people are planning for some riding tonight. I may have to get some track time in tonight.

There was a good bit of bar bumpin going on this evening but everyone stayed up. Suprisingly good turn out and way stoked to see people I haven't seen since summer.

Big thanks to Keith for bringing print copies of the group photo from rehbeins opening day.

Looks like i'm the only one to not show.. That's bogus.. went to that movie. American Gangster.. I dont' recommend it, unless you want to take a good nap..
trackdaddy
You guys rocked last night... It was almost inspiring engough for me to grab a bike and hit the track... The only thing is between turbo and dirtdog kicking my rear end around the track and all you big dogs out there I think the only place I can ride is in the kiddy parade. Oh.. ya.. Sassy is in that class and she kicks my but too. biggrin.gif

None the less I might have to make my riding premier next week - just make sure to leave the tire tracks where they don't show....

What a night of practice. Great to see so many older guys out there. It was fun stacking the gate with all of us. I think Doug will have to add another lane to the berm soon.

It was great to see Jay back at the track with the new and improved bike. You looked good out there Jay. Keep it up.
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
I see Cater's Tahoe sale didn't go through and it is back up on Ebay if any one is interested.

Tahoe Cruiser

check this out, scored this at a used thrift store yesterday...from 1976! cool.

Paul Springer
Nice find there Miland, I sure wish I had my red Bell Moto III from BITD.
Heir Vendt
It was good to be out there.
So many peeps I hadn't seen since summer also.

The bike seems ok. couple more adjustments where made today. Thx for the suggestions on the brakes guys.

No crashes this time! Wahoo.
NO Flex either! At all.

Nice helmet Mellon!

I'm trying to keep that Tahoe in MN.
We'll see.
B. Apold
Hey Sean, I have a black w/ yellow Moto III and Mom and Dad's.. Cool helmet

Jay, nice bike and I'd leave the color. I've never seen anything even close to those colors.
Paul Springer
I would leave the color too. I think you were talking about powdering it black. Is the primary color for the Faction Race Team going to be all black? Arrrrrrr matey, its might be a hot Summer in all black.

Yup, its at Polly and Bill's. It was the first helmet I used when I started racing auto-x (1994). I think its a 7 1/4... Its beat up pretty good

Whitty, I thought you were there Friday night Bill. I was talking to Jay about uniforms and such. That night he was wearing a new long sleeve MN Faction shirt (ALL BLACK). He said something about wait a bit because something super exciting is coming up from the Faction. I am anxious to see... I just assumed the theme was all black, everything. Sorry about the lack of clarity there, my fault.
B. Apold
I say leave the frame blue. Its really cool and most importantly, IF you decide the frame isn't your thing you can sell it easier I would think (original status)

I tore apart my back rim tonight. The hub and spokes cleaned up so nice. I'm going to try my luck lacing up my first rim set. It doesn't look that difficult.

Wasn't that race two weeks ago? We all saw him Friday and he didn't say a word...

Good job Jayson... How was the track?
Guest200901
This is odd...This is the 1st week that nobody has started the "Okay!, Who's riding this weeked at the Horse Corral...what? That leads to...O' I'll be there... hike yer skirt up Apold, cuz I'll be gunnin for ya, or bring yer C-Yaa chain tensioner Chain Slip, or...well you get it...

Did everyone's cornflakes get 'ooped in this week?

I'll be there on Sunday, and by the looks of it, the old guys class will consist of a 9int, 15x, 24nov and Terry the DQ man. Anyone met that Terry guy? He is funny as He!!-!!! Plus, since he is there every weekend, you all just may have your hands full by March...Hmmm should he be in black or blue for 2008....

ANYWAY, life's been busy and haven't had much time to play, and post. Speaking of posting, Ted? don't you live in Minnesota anymore? Haven't seen you "interact" with your BMX roots here much at all....Stop by and say...well something if you
B. Apold
I'm out until Dec. sometime. Actually I'm going to TC's sat to do a few bmx repairs.

Have fun and be safe to all the racers.
Paul Springer
I will be racing Saturday & Sunday, I have plans with my bride this evening.

Its a BIG weekend for Wisconsin football losses, good luck to Vikings & University of Michigan!
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
I'm a long shot to race Sunday. After my rookie move in the main last week, I'm dying to redeem myself. All I know is that flanel boy isn't going to get off that easy next time. Russ, just remember what happened to you when you got too close in moto 1.

I thought you were talking about me for a second.. LOL!! You guys just be safe and no funny stuff. I'm not riding because of my goofing around and I have an arm that won't heal and my hands hurt like crazy and I can't hold on to the bars properly...Last Friday night riding wasn't working out to well for me so I hung it up.

It was a tough day of racing saturday!

Glad your feeling better mate. The damn crashes suck. Were ALL glad your okay. News like that is never good.

Rod, Out of the first corner I was told he got a bit shakey and basically smacked into the first jump (second straight) and that's were the damage happened.
wds
Dang Paul. That really sucks. I did that to my shoulder around 5 or 6 years ago as well. Took about 1-2 months of Physical Therapy before it was back to good. Let it heal, do what the doc says & stay on the physical therapy & you'll be back racing by next year for sure.
-Bill
Ted Carl
Glad to see that you can remember your name now Paul.... Sheesh. I was pretty worried after talking to Brad on Sunday. Scary man.

As fun as it would be, that would be the reason why I refuse to get out there with ya'll on race day. It's enough work single parenting and paying the bills as it is, as the series of events have unfolded for me... The thought of just how much that injury would have cost me in cold hard cash, plus the thought of trying to run the household, and take care of Jeremy, and pay the bills with a similar injury, keeps VBMX racing on my "not gonna happen" list. Clearly, I remain in the "If things were as they were" or, "If things were different" mode.....

Condo...."This is the 1st week that nobody has started the "Okay!, Who's riding this weeked at the Horse Corral...what? That leads to...O' I'll be there... hike yer skirt up Apold, cuz I'll be gunnin for ya, or bring yer C-Yaa chain tensioner Chain Slip, or..".... It's true... But, not much for me to comment on, only to watch from the sidelines.

I'm glad as heck the group is involved in NS meets OS racing, but the fact is, there isn't much in it for me to participate in at this point. An injury like Paul's would probably cost me my house at this point, and that's one hell of an entry fee....It's just not going to happen. I am still from MN, and I am still watching, but that's as close as I can get to the racing series for the time being. The "old school social gathering" entry fees are the ones in my "price range", lol.

I'm just glad you're in a good position to weather such an injury Paul, and I'm glad you didn't get your bell rung any worse than you did. Get better man!
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Great to hear you're home now Pauli. Get well soon.

If I remember correctly, those two were brothers age 4 & 5. It's awesome to see see kids out there!
Heir Vendt
Glad to hear you doing better Paul!

Ok.

Guy's, we're old. REalize this. Deal with it. Do something to protect yourself IF you decide you want to do this again.

Mucho Thanks to Chucky for litterly MAKING me get this!!!!!

661

The price has dropped down to a point where you should really consider this.

I have no doubts what so ever that I would have been injured considerably worse from the wobble-frame if I hadn't had my armor on.

Wow! That is a great price for that gear. I think Santa needs to bring Pauli a set for Christmas.
Paul Springer
I knew this subject would come up.

I landed directly on the ball of my left shoulder and even the trauma doctor said that shoulder pads would not have changed the outcome. I definetly agree the shoulder pads would not have hurt the situation either. Additionally, the left side of my helmet is cracked from the crash, I went down hard!

I can see how crashing and getting a pedal or a handle bar to the chest and having the gear on would definetly help or sliding out on your elbow and having the elbow pads on. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.
