Mark, you may have missed my question in my post above.
Do you have the video from Friday's Isanti race available?

Speaking of BMX in WI, as we drove to Door County, we passed a new-looking BMX track. I think it was east of Shawano. Resurgence of BMX in Cheeseland?
Way to go Bill Sympson!

Well I have experienced yet another Track in Minnesota! I have to say that this was an OLD SCHOOL TRACK! and way cool!
Sprinter pulled down a 1st place at the Dillworth State Qualifier!
Checkout these berms. Brad, now you can come out and race on an old shool track, should you ever have the urge.
Sprinter, just before he considered tossing his cookies....

Jul 26 2007, 11:39 AM
Thanks Mike, I have a few but this was a fun one. This track was sooooooo friggin cool. I would have to say it was about 10% NS and 90% OS. The kids that were riding it for the first time were really stumped as to had to manage. The berms weren't tall enough to hold them in place with gravity. They had a sweet jump in the middle of a turn that was OS bigtime. The heat was brutal, mucho steamy but all in all it was a riot...

Great Job Paul!
I do have one question though. Why was I not informed of this little road trip?
Who's running this team?
B. Apold
Jul 26 2007, 01:57 PM
MC, I'd race my 20" GT on that track... sweet fun!
Yeah, how come I wasn't invited??
Now that track looks fun. Pauli, Having to pedal around the track felt good I bet huh? If tracks were more like that I'd race every chance.
I bet it was hot too....Yikes!
I don't suppose you'll be going back there again this year?

Wendt, your bike will kick some booty when it's done. I am so kicking myself that I sold my RedLine, but oh well. The Floval will be fun at the Barn.
I heard that there was a near mutiny in the team vehicle when the manager would not pull over for bathroom breaks or wait while a gas station burrito was warming up in the microwave... that's what a "credible" source told me.

Yeah, Joe is a really cool guy, we did talk about you there Mo for a bit. He said he is coming down for the national. Of course we had good things to say about you there Mo. That Dilworth track is pretty cool, the NS kids hated it.
Hope to see you this weekend!

Did the OS race actually race on OS bikes?
I've been wondering...that's all.
wds
Jul 27 2007, 11:07 AM
Jay, I'm proud to say I did.
Well maybe not full old school, but an Early/Mid 90's S&M Widowmaker, with some modern parts & some parts from the 80's.
Christine also raced on a OS bike - an 87ish GT Performer. It's Freestlye, so I doubt you'd count that as well.

It's hard to race em. They where made for racing...and we where all younger, lighter, and untouched...
I've had the conversation with a few about this. I don't want to crash the bikes with NOS parts, hence why I started putting together the NS ride. ON the other HAND! They are RACE bikes....so....they should be raced.
I would like to see a race with OS racers on OS rides, at an OS type track. Elk River was pretty good, St. Michael would not be for that classification. Good but NS.
El-Clowno, Grumpy - You 2 make up...and make it happen.
Grumpy - your town F'in Stinks tonight too!!!! OMG! Glad to be home.

I saw that too Mikko. Is that a 26" mtb or 24"..... Not sure if any of you knew this, but in 24 cruiser class under ABA rules, you CAN run a two speed bike if you desire..

Jul 30 2007, 06:54 AM
Its a 26/24 (front/back). Lets just say that the shocks worked a little to well thru the whoop section.
It was a great weekend of racing. BIG congrats to Dougy "D'Nunzio" Carlson for winning on Sunday. The dude was flat out fast and unstoppable. The St. Cloud track was in great shape and as technical as EVER.
Big props to Bruce (bnd) from Utah, super cool kat. It was a pleasure meeting you and we hope to see you gain soon. Conley showered Bruce with some MN BMX wear & stickers to take back home with him. Within 10 minutes on meeting Bruce he was already inducted to the MN homey club, lol!
For all you lame-o's that aren't payin attention next weekend is the national at St. Cloud. C-Ya!

Congrats Dougie.

Racing this weekend in St. Cloud was a blast to watch! I'm was very impressed with the rider turnout. This is very positive for the sport of BMX!
Bruce, it was great meeting you this weekend. You " for sure" have the BMX competition in you. Have a safe trip back to Utah! Say hi to Mike Poulson for me..Ha Ha. I hope the video taping turned out for you guys.
Russ, it was great to meet you also. You looked really good sportin that KTM 250 out there on the track. Little more work on that endurance and you'll definately be a threat!
Springer, Walton, Flyin-Lo, it was great to see you guys mixing it up out there this weeekend. Like I said before it was a blast to be a spectator cheering you guys on..
What can I say about my little cousin "The Hammer" he looked really good this weekend, I was impressed to say the least. "I think it was the Jersey" HaHa!! I'm working on a deal to get him a sponsorship with "Marlboro." Motor home, semi, huge indorsement deals by Levi Strauss, Vans shoes, Electro helmets, Jofa, Vera, Thruster, the list goes on and on!! LOL
MC- great job with all the coverage this weekend. It was really great to hear the Track and supporters give you recognition this weekend with all you do with this great sport of BMX.
Great fun had by all.
Brad- after this weekend watching, I'll have to admit part of me really wanted to be out there mixing it up.. we'll see what happens in the future.
Oh, by the way, That Springer guy has major game on the Golf Course. I had a great time golfing with you, the Hammer, and MC. Sorry I didn't golf better, but after watching the white Tiger Woods of Oak Hill, and can honestly say I got a little nervous..

Jeff, Since I haven't riden my 24 since March leaves a bit of reserve about racing, but hey if I qualify I do, if I don't I don't.... On a National level, I think the 35-40 class will be tough, however by the time I turn 41 in December, the 41-45 will really be tough...Most of us are get'n there.. I'm still thinking of racing once this weekend.

Jay, I got the bike feeling good now, finally. I haven't ever really cared for the FMF until I spent some quality time setting it up. As ar as getting hurt, that's a good point, but I could trip on the curb getting my mail and poke my eye out, so we never safe... LOL!!! I plan to ride tonight and see how I feel.

Mikko-Where did you get that picture of my Aunts Minivan we took for a joy ride one night. I was told that these are highly classified photo's never to be circulated in the public eye. Are you trying to make us look like the MAD MAX of modern day? For a small fee I can show you the remains in person..Not pretty!
