I have some stuff here collecting dust, I know I probably will not use any of it so I want to do something cool with it.
Bill, Hal and Rick break their butts giving us a fun playground to play in. If it wasn't for Vintage, I wouldn't have been able to find a hobby that I love as much as this. My silly little bikes have really, really made my life just a bit funner. When I was sick in '05, all the vintage guys dropped me a line to make sure I was ok. When my mom died and I broke my back in '06, ditto. As a thank you to Vintage, and as a way to make sure VBMX is able to run to the fullest extent possible, I am going to give this stuff away for donations to Vintage and other charities. I hope some of you guys will follow this lead and also do it. Bill, Hal and Rick have I think only once ever asked any of us to help them out with the financials for this site, and hopefully this thread will make sure they don't have to anytime soon.
Bill, Hal and Rick have no idea I am planning this. If it offends them, I am sorry, I am just trying to help this place out. It has done a TON for me, so its the least I can do.
Come on guys, pony up some of your stuff you have laying around and lets help some people out.
Here is how I would like to do it. All the prices for this stuff is (I think..) below what they would go for on the bay. Whomever is the first to offer to make the donations gets it. FEEL FREE TO MAKE BIGGER DONATIONS!!! You must send proof that you sent the donations to me via email (NFR5111@YAHOO.COM), and once that is done, I will ship the items to you. I will pick up the shipping. All donations have to be made from TODAY forward...if you made one yesterday, sorry, thats great but this starts Sunday, April 8th. Donations made to other places must be proven also. My "other" donation will be to the New England Home for Little Wanderers in Boston, which was a place my mom was adopted from and very dear to her heart, and is to mine. Their site is here: www.thehome.org . You can make the donation right off their website. VBMX donations can be made via Paypal right off this site. If you don't use Paypal, you can send me the $$ and I will make the donation.
My offerings....
1. JMC bars- ok shape, they are small, maybe FABS but shorter. Good rider condition. I will get a pic and dimensions tonight for anyone interested. First to offer a $50 donation to VBMX and $50 donation to thehome.org gets them.
2. Redline 45t 1st gen script sprocket, very, very nice shape but needs to be buffed or polished out. $25 donation to Vintage and $25 donation to thehome.org gets it.
3) a bunch of Zeronine mini numbers- mostly yellow and black, packages are all NOS and you will get a BUNCH of them. At least 25 packs of 2, if not more. If you have a number preference let me know. $10 donation to VBMX and $10 donation to thehome.org gets them.
4) NOS Red or Yellow Viscount MX seats- I have 2 of each available. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. $10 donation to vintage and $10 to thehome.org gets 1 seat
5) a bunch of old school stickers. good stuff for sure. well worth the investment. $5 donation to vintage and $5 to thehome.org
6) 1 set of blue 20x1.75 Schwinn Predator bmx tires. Comp 3 tread. Never mounted or used. $15 donation to vintage and $15 donation to thehome.org
7) 1 set of NOS Golden Dragon 24x175 cruiser tires. Snakebelly tread. Never used or mounted. $40 donation to vintage and $40 donation to thehome.org gets them.
