(I posted this on OSBMX also).

Went and checked out the 2007 national finals today.

Gnarly track - tonnes of jumps - you know the drill with today's tracks.

Good, smooth racing - these guys and girls really go for it...
Some of these riders will be on the NZ Oylmpic team in 2008.

The youngest rider was 3 and the oldest was 50!
They all raced exactly the same track!

I was watching the 35-40 class and I figured I could get back into racing in it but my job is dependant on my hands and if I boke a finger or wrist while racing I'd be stuffed!

Still - it's nice to know I still feel the vibe to race and what was cool is one of teh 35-40 yo riders was a guy I used to ride against when I was 13/14 yo.
Cool to hear his name called out on the PA.

Also, the vibe of the meeting was very good - just like the old days.
Good sportsmanship all round and lots of good times being had by family etc.

We walked around the pits and we spied a few old school rides still being raced, most notably a 1984 Pro Class 24 with single pince 180 401s and an early Hutch mini.

No I didn't offer to buy them.

Here's a few pics for you.

PS: I didn't see many riders using clips.
