Any Seattle area bmxers, I just received an email that Bob Barci of The Bikefactory and more recent Seattle Bike Supply passed away Wednesday of stomach cancer. I think anyone from around here KNOWS that shop. I learned to lace wheels there when I was 16, learned how to NOT be a punk a__ there and rode for his freestyle team for a few years and worked with him at SBS. I think anyone from around here will always have great memories of Bob and Bikefactory. Ride on Bob.

Is that is the same Bob who was at the Bellevue Bikefactory?
How sad. Some of my best memories are of that shop. I went there two or three times a week (mostly just to look), and was always treated really well. Those guys were really into the scene, and I remember laughing at the sight of these grown men riding across the parking lot on "kids" bikes.
It saddens me that yet another part of my past has been lost.

Bob, May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Bob was my sales rep for many years. One of the good ones. Liked his hair on the long side also.

Bob had a partner in Bikefactory named Wally and he moved to Hawaii and opened a Bikefactory here. I worked there for many years and we had many visits from Bob. He was a cool and fun guy, he will be missed.
