Retro Rag #1 Retro Rag #2 Gork and I did these back in '96. Our first attempt at getting collectors around the US together. Thanks to Ben Joy for posting our work.
Enjoy!

You guys should do another run of them, I'd buy a copy of each.

I still have a tan covered copy of #1 that I got at the ABA Grands in OKC. Great stuff. The vintage display done by the ABA that year and Retro Rag #1 was what really sparked my interest in collecting. I had always remembered the stuff from my era of BMX as cool, but hadn't realized that there was a scene blowing up around it. Watershed moment for me for sure.

Shannon,
You guys should make on line versions (higher resolution than Youtube) and post them. That Curtin guys pretty good at scanning!

I'd actually like to have hard copies, I'm not good at online things.

Convert to pdf and people can download and print savings you a ton of work.

I kind of like the mystic of the Retro Rag. Some people have them, most have heard about them. With all the other things going on, it all comes down to time.

I'm in there - does it say I'm from San Antonio? close enough. I always gotta bring up San Antone and Buffalo Valley. I miss those days for sure.

Pat, You are in there. It's a side bar interview where you are ranting about how much better old tracks were!
Darren Chan, Dave C, and a few otehrs were there also.

Amazing to read about how people still remember Retro Rag -- and way cool to see Ben Joy throwin' 'em up on YouTube (really liked the Cheap Trick soundstrack for Retro #2).
THANKS BEN! Was fun looking at them again without having to get black smudges on my finger tips.
Really amazing to think now that they are over a decade old, and that it was right before the big internet boom. Now with vintage sites all over the WWW, it's surprising to hear that people would still like to hold a stapled-together xerox'd piece of paper.
Somewhere, I believe I still have the original boards that we used to xerox them from. I'll see if I can dig 'em out and we can PDF 'em.

If you can print up some hard copies that would be WAY better for me, even if they aren't stapled. Let me know.

They could be a part of the gift package along with the t-shirt and stuff for those attending Rockford...just an idea.
Hey does anyone still have a Schwing frame??

I have my Schwing framesets which I raced in 1995 at the Stockton nationals and the ABA Grands.

Schwing's were cool ... that is, until my brother got a "cease and desist" letter from Schwinn, telling us they were too similar to Schwinn (headtube badge and all; with just one letter different).
I think there's still one of two of them in my bro's shop -- PATRIOT BIKE SHOP in Fair Oaks, CA..
The sidehack that he and WFo John Serverin raced on in Roseville last year was bolted to a Schwing.

Insert anything in here and it sounds like something I may say. My wife says I am a pack rat and never will throw anything away.
