I hate to steal his thunder, since he hasn't even see it in person yet, but it's like birthday $$ burning a hole in my pocket. I was able to grab this for Scott Towne on Monday. Apparently it's a 1975 Yamaha Moto bike. Note the rear suspension.

Sure the seat and forks are not accurate, but I'm sure in due time all will be corrected. For now it resides in my basement until we can coordinate delivery to it's proud new owner.

Kurt.
Cool pick up. Stem isn't original either. Be amazing how much better the suspension will work when the sissy bar is removed!!!

Lapeer, north of Flint actually.

The guy wanted me to take 3 walmart mongoose MTB frames too. I had to talk him out of that :-)

Are you from the area?

Gold stem too, nice score for Towne

That puppy is a '76! the '76 models came with the one piece cranks. '74 and '75 models came with the three piece "wedge pin" cranks. the proper front fork for that year should have the bare aluminum shock body lowers made by KYB. and not the painted steel ones. plus it looks like the rims are the OG 28 spoke units. cuz it got to be proper for Mr. Towne!
