I think something along the lines of " motorized vehicles will be confiscated " would make people think twice. The subject of the fence. Alot of construction company's use rent a fence. They install and maintain the fence for a reasonable fee every month. I think if we just did the street side it would be a start.

I was thinking that instead of just one sign with a ton of info on it we could do 2. For sure I would like a few signs with big letters.

BICYCLE MOTOCROSS TRACK
NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES

Then a few others that say.................

Membership required
Safety gear required
riding during operational hours only
Please see track official before riding
Info
www.islandbmx.org
www.ababmx.com

Or something like that, chime in any sugestions.

Jeremy,

I think you have to check with Reid or Wayne about the property. Even though it may be State land. I think the responsibility falls on the people leasing the property from the State. So that would be the Sandbox staff. Try and check the Harbor parking lot by the track for the signs posted there and see if Harbors is posted or Dept. of Land and Natural Resources is listed on the sign.

Then if it is the Harbors or Dept. of Land and Natural . They fall under the Dept. of Public Safety.

Then as to the wording . Keep it simple. What Jason wrote is fine. You have to post it were people can see it and multiple signs.

Redline Cup Qualifier March 14-15. Awesome hopefully we will have the gate by then smile.gif
Jason Chang
Yes we will have the gate by then. what do you guys think about a big promo day as a membership drive? On one Sunday we will advertise and push heavy to sign up and join ABA followed up by our first race the next weekend. I figure 2-3 weeks of promo lead time. Then hopefully a big practice day and then our first real race. aiming for end Jan 2010. Would 50+ racers be a resonable goal? I think we can do it and maybe more.

I will be grilling up some food and we'll have a couple of coolers there so if you're of age, BYOB. Let me know if you have any questions or you contact Dylan himself. And please bring your bikes (w/ lights) and your good cheer. Carlos will be leading a bicycle ride to see the Honolulu City Lights. Egg nog, all around! Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukah, Happy Festivus and whatever thing that Dennis celebrates."

Yeah you pretty much got it, it is a way to introduce newbs to chasing a national title. With the normal national series you need 8 scores from 8 (might be 6)nationals plus the grands to earn a national number. The Redline Cup is just make your main at one qualifier and you are invited to the regional finals, there are 3 finals. East, Central and west. You go to the one that your state is in. If you win your main you are declared the Redline Cup champion. So just 2 races to earn a national title. We are lucky to have a qualifier as not all tracks get one and in states that have many tracks they fight over getting one. you can be a RC champ in any class, so there will be a pro, expert, inter, novice and cruiser and girls champ. It is one of only 2 tripple points local races, the other being the state champ finals. So even if you don't plan to go to the finals you can earn a ton of points. It would not be unusual for out of state riders to come to ours, as it is very hard in some areas to make the main. If you go to Southern California the comp is so hard that many miss the main and have to try again in another qualifier race at another track. The RC title is just one step below the national series titles and one step above the state series title. This might be a fun race for a bunch of us locals to go to the RC finals. This is where the 20 inch novice and inters have a much better chance at winning than the cruiser class. The cruiser class is made up of mostly experts.

Someone please explain what ROC is all about

Race of Champions (R.O.C.)—Grand Nationals Pre-race
1. The R.O.C. will be a triple district point event.
2. The top 10 riders in each classification and skill level from each state / provincial championship series points will be eligible to race the Race of Champions. This means the top 10 novices, intermediates, experts, girls, and cruisers of each age class.
3. Girl novices will be eligible under the novice skill level.
4. Any rider may compete at the R.O.C. in the class and skill level that they competed as at their respective State / Provincial Championship Final event.
5. If a state or province has no State / Provincial Championship Final event, the top 5 riders in each age group from the district points standings as of August 31, which will be published in the October BMXer, shall become eligible to race the R.O.C. Additionally, each rider will have the ability to compete in the age and skill level that they were as of that same August 31st date.
6. Foreign amateur riders are not required to qualify for the R.O.C. (Canadian riders are not considered foreign.). However, only those foreign amateur riders that have purchased an ABA membership and have met the qualifying measures per the State / Provincial Championship series will be eligible to earn the R.O. C. title and benefits. All other foreign amateur riders can race for the award of the day but will forfeit any title and included benefits to the next available qualified rider in the respective main event.
7. The winner of each class at the Race of Champions will be awarded a special R.O.C. #1 number plate, which may be run until the conclusion of the following year’s R.O.C.
8. Any rider riding out of class at any State / Provincial Championship event will not be eligible to participate in the R.O.C.
9. Any rider qualifying for the R.O.C. in class or cruiser may race all classes—class, cruiser and open.
10. The ABA reserves the right to review and make determinations in all aspects involving rider qualification and classification for the R.O.C. event.

Basicaly, the top 10 in each class from each state get it on. 50 states = possible 500 per class to see who is the best.

That's cool. I knew she had family here, I think it was her Mom that is a local girl too. I have seen Kim do well against the A pro guys. She never got last. Hope she comes back.

Glad to hear she has Hawaii ties. I think she mentioned she was born here. I'm also glad to hear she can hang with the A pro men. Because, this girl is fast! Hopefully she will bring her bike next time she visits family here. It got me really pumped to watch someone of her skill level ride. I am looking forward to seeing her race again.

Was that last Weds? Was he joking and trying to freak you guys out or was he just comfortable? He had shorts and knee/shin guards. I was just told by Klaus that we need to dig out the area that the gate will fall into. About 2 inches deep and about 2 feet out from front of the concrete. He called me on Mon so I don't know if or when we need to do this by. Or maybe it is done already and I lagged. But we are so close. Guys get your SNAP on. Clips ??? Oooooo is that gonna be a bad word or just the norm. So whos gonna be the first old schooler to do it. Must be a pre 1985 racer. No more slipped pedals. I say I would love to see TG do it. Big as the Titanic taken everybody with him. I know I'll be faster just to get out of the way. Wait. isn't Braddah Russel already clipped in? Hope he trades in the Pogo stick ride for a rigid frame.
