......... BITD I was all about "big air", now it's more like "big scare".

I totally can relate. I had to spend a whole day at HK trying to break myself from hitting the brakes a little before the jump. But, it comes back. Slowly, but it comes back.

Looking forward to riding with you guys. I can't wait to see you guys getting air. It will bring smiles to your face for sure! Like Changstar said - "No one quits BMX they just take long breaks".

Vintage member Waza hooked me up with some of his new Team Jag decals. So I started slapping together the 20". Man my wife thinks I am nuts with the S&M build, the Jag build and the Black Market frame i have waiting to build. Like Russel would say "out of control".

Changstar,

Can you help clear this up for me? In the magazines or on the internet I keep seeing the term "opposite side tables". P's left foot is forward and he tables left foot down. Now is that right side table or opposite side table?

When you say you are goofy footed. Is it the same as surfing with the right foot forward? Which is supposed to be easier to do?

Man I am confused. huh.gif

Hey Changstar, wazzupp!

you look much more el'naturalle tabling in the manner i am thinking (opposite scoop footed) ..

in the rad pics Bone posted, i learned that table side much later, this is my first and easier way..

OK, now granted alot of people gave me $%$%$ back in the day for "spreading like an eagle" when tabling, but hey at least i never knocked my feet off the pedals when getting air.. that is important when trying not to eat it ..

In any case, my left foot is the forward one.. is that goofy <differs to JK question at Changstar>

Examine my left pedal and shoe position here.. this is why having good shoes and pedals with bloddy fangs matter much to me.. more confidence that my feet won't lose grip ..

- i need some shin-guards too ..

though in my old-age now, it may be a moot point ..

cheers .. see ya maybe saturday, if the stars line up right LOL

P,

Thats a cool pic from Kaimuki HS. The guys standing in the background drooling is pretty funny. But, to notice the Motomag in the back of some pretty girls is just out there my brother.

I jump left foot forward like you do. I think Changstar and Moki jump left forward too. I learned left foot down and I find it easier to try to table left foot down. But, I have a hard time keeping my knees tucked when going left foot down. By wife calls me the jumping whore when I do that. If I try the opposite side I can't get it as flat but have no problem keeping the knees tucked. _uckin drives me nuts.......I just want to flatten it out with my knees tucked but can't do it.

I gotta watch you click the tables and copy you. Wish I could make it Sat but gotta work. We will all hook up one day though. Gotta get Changstar and Klaus back out to HK again.

Goofy foot to me is when you kick out to the same side as the rear pedal. So goofy is right foot back and kicks to the right. I can goofy flatter but more stylish going the other way. Going the normal way naturaly tangles your bars with your knees of the forward foot, so harder to get that twisted flat table with tucked together knees. Standard kick out is easier for about the first 45 degrees, but harder for that little extra needed to get flat. Then you can get into which way you turn your bars and if you are left or right handed, he he he. Yeah I am a techno geek.

Ah....Makes total sense to me. And I totally agree. Standard is easier to get stylish till the bars interfere with your knee. I can caveman it flat sometimes "goofy footed" but it looks so damn ugly. I think the cruiser complicates things too. Their isn't much room between the toptube and your bars. So it makes it harder trying to get your legs out of the way. I still can't figure out how you are doing the Leary on your cruiser. My bars stop me from getting fully clicked like you.

jk
Jason Chang
It's not as smooth as it looks. My shin gets nailed as I twist the bike. One of those, do it for the picture. Much easier with a 20 since there is more room between the TT of the frame and the taller bars.

It's 24" race forks. also picked up some black widow 175's. carlise aggressors comp 3 style tires. i'll post some pics when it's done, still need some part brakes, grips, etc., small stuff.
Rust808
OK, so most of these parts are switched from my quadangle.

The Torker is an older '98-'99? frame. Rode it and liked it better than the quadangle.
TT is 21.5, got the classic twin top tube design
chain stay is about 15.25
This bike is smooth and solid.

Here's my fave. HRP september 1978. Great shot by JT of one of the epic battles between No. 1 Rory Ingano (Eki/Robinson) and No. 73 Jon Ichimura (McCully). Judging by the riding style no. 78 is Ken Sugai.

I'm guessing, but #577 may be Eric Philippart before he was sponsored by TBS. The pants look like Wes BMX which I believe Eric was wearing before TBS. Need to check the magazine points lists to ID the riders.

Just a note for clarification. Don't think this photo was even the main. It's probably a quarter or semi final. Barry did make the main and was riding one of the first production DG ZF-1's.

so hows the s&m coming along? I ended up buying a 20" s&m randy brown frame. it was a $ issue. custom 24 s&m's sure cost alot $870 f/f... i'll get one after I finish my dune buggy project...

So was that Sewel inspired? Very Rad. Hows P nut comming along, anyone know? Hey BU are you sure on that price, seems a little high to me. You can get a Formula for less than $300, or a full complete for about $600. Let me know, maybe I can swing a deal for ya. Calling Walter, where are you?

Changstar
Jeremy K.
Thanks guys.

Sewell inspired for sure.

BU,

Yeah the cost of the S&M is pretty steep. My S&M stalled a little since I started building the Jag again. Cruisers are fun but my heart is always with the 20. I also ran into a few issues with the S&M frame. I wanted to run 41/18 but the front sprocket hits the frame. So I am going to 38/17. I got a Rennen 38 that clears the frame. I'm waiting for the 17 rear from Bombshell. I need to get another Snap stem too.

Looking forward to seeing your 20 built!
