jeff don't own a computer... remember when I said it was like the old days, I meant it... LOL... now I might have to get a 24, JK how you like the 38 special might get one from klau. is the front easy to lift? and how does it steer? I rode some 24's and the front end, hard to lift and steering felt kinda weird, too fast... need some info before I buy...

BU
Jason Chang
Hey BU, you gotta try my Formula cruiser. It is the Pro model with the 20.5 top tube and 15.5 rear. Front pulls up easy, and still got another 3/4 inch left in the drop out to make it shorter. It is the most 20 inch like cruiser I have tried so far. If you get the 38 Special, make sure it is the one with the shorter rear end. That is what klaus and JK have. So far I have not seen JK on his, all the pics so far are the Badd frame. So JK is it together yet? Hows it ride compared to the Badd?

Still haven't finished it. The problem is I am happy with how the BADD rides so I havent been in a rush to finish the S&M. Yeah! BU take the plunge man and get a cruiser!

Rust808
Hey guys, how about pics of your cruisers. I bet more than a few of us "old guys" would like to see what's out there in the market now. If you got old school cruisers, show 'em too.
BONE808
hey changstar
is it the nucleus pro frame? 20.5

BU
Jason Chang
No, it is the Phoenix pro, Chromo with 20.5 TT. I wanted a bike that would last a long time. Geometry is spot on. If I get serious in to racing I'll get the Nucleus Alum.

hey pnut and the rest of the all things hawaiian crew, guess who me and russ found today?........................................................
we found the elusive jeff kang. I got about 30 pics of you, daniel lee, earl yamada, and mark miyashiro. some pretty nuts tabletops at cannons, jump track, pc flats, and various locations. sorry can't post, gotta buy new scanner, but will post when can. he's going to dig up his old jerseys and other stuff. we talked for about 30 to 45 minutes, maybe an hour and he flipped us out. I haven't seen him in about maybe 15 years and it was like nothing changed, he's still a NUTS guy. maybe I can recruit him to ride again.

BU

Nice looking ride Jason...you got that Nirve hanging in the garage? Hope all is well over in the islands...been checking in on this thread every now and then...good to see they are moving again on getting the Sand Box opened and ready to rip...let me know when it all comes together...we are looking at coming back to the islands either this summer or next...I will bring the bikes along do some riding with the "all things Hawaiian" gang...laters brah!!!

BIG SARGE
Jason Chang
Hey Sarge, you know I will let you know about our track as it happens. Yeah still have 2 or 3 Nirves hanging in the garage, I think 3 are stock and one is custom shorter TT, boy they were good to me for a guy that maybe was racin 10 races a year. Not only that but my TM was letting me call him at home to let him know what's going on. My TM was Gary Ellis.

Jason Chang
Hey guys, check out the thread about Vans. Anybody remember what shoes they had waaay back? I know at first they were hard to get, I think only Cobra skateboards had them. This is waay before Bikefac was here. I always thought it was trick to have matching shoes with your uni, just totaly factory looking. Trying to remember where and when I even got mine.
Side note, any engine tuners out there? Looking for advice on shift points and engine RPM.

Looks like a low profile frame like all the new school 20". I guess if I were into the new school 24" I would get something like that! What is the weight on the whole complete? Also does it have brake cable guides and what is bb height? looks clean and simple.
Jason Chang
Yeah I always like low profile frames, maybe cause I am not real tall and to me it looks more sleek and racy. Weight is about 24 lbs, BB is 11.75, brake cable guides are for full cable not split. It rides like it is very light. Somtimes geometry can make a bike feel heavy even though on a scale it is very light. I had a Redline that was too big for me but hit the scales at 22.5 lbs and felt much heavier when riding it. Geomtry and size played a big part in how it felt. I totaly dig the cranks, Saints or the new DXR is stiffer than Profile but much lightetr. I have tried many many cranks and till now no Aluminum cranks have been this stiff. And they are hollow not solid, that's why they are so light.

Eh Andy and Davey,

Whereabouts in Cali are you guys located?I'm heading up in a few days.

Any of you Mililanians remember a Tenbergan(sp?)? A classmate of mine/ours has a son on our basketball team and he said his brother used to ride BMX with Zed and Chang.I think his name was Austin.I was long gone from riding when they were riding.
Jason Chang
I think Davey is in Orange County near Anaheim, and Andy is South in San Diego.

I am in San Diego, but in less than 24 hrs I will be gone for the weekend. I'm going to Woodward West for the biggest Old School freestyle reunion ever! I'll be taking my son with me for three days of riding and partying at night. Over 185 OS riders have booked rooms at the camp. Check out some of the attendees

http://kickstandbmx.blogspot.com/

If you are in the neighborhood after the 22nd let me know and we can hook up.

Jason Chang
Hey Sug, you might consider checking out Woodward west, it is in Tehachappi, CA. It is like Disneyland for bikers, open to the public unless it is some special event that is private. I am sure they would have no prob if you told them you were from Hawaii and are Andy's biggest fans who flew up just to meet him. Look up camp woodward on the net.

Changstar
andy619
It is a closed private event, I tried to add a name to my reservation last week but was told it's too late.
Jason Chang
Hey Andy be sure to post some pics. That list is awesome, I hopw something like that happends on the race side, I would love to see and hang out with some old 80's racers.

Rust,

Been meaning to get a pic but feeling lazy lately. Heres a pic of the bike I already had. Nothing has changed on it:

BADD F/F, Profile Cranks/sprocket, Old Araya 7X rims with Suzue hubs, Maxx Daddy front, holy Roller Rear, S&M Bars, 44mm Snap Stem, Ruffian Lock Ons, Welgo MG1 Pedals, SDG seat, Sinz seatpost, Retrobmx seatclamp. 42/18 gearing which is too steep for my old a_ss. But, hey all I do is roll down a hill and jump anyway. wink.gif

Love the Frame and Fork! Reminds me of an old goose. Not the lightest and trickest but great stable geo.

Been laid of for 4+ months, boredom and late night e-bay/ forums browsing. Most things picked up with eyes 98 percent closed. biggrin.gif
The Robi was the bike I rode in the early 90's. It was mostly for Tantlus trails. It was pretty rusted, but only surface type. Used some aluminum foil like a polishing cloth and the rust just came off, kinda like the foil was a rust magnet, trippy.
But thankfully going back to work monday, make some money for some graphites. smile.gif

Russ

BU,
Yup, let's ride! Probably bust out the Skyway.
Jeremy K.
Rust,

I tried the foil thing on my flights a while back. Works pretty good but, I was worried about it scratching the plating. I gotta have my flights replated anyway. Some of the plating flaked off in some spots.

Congrats on going back to work. Now you can buy more parts! cool.gif

Follow the driving range road (Kaahele I think) up till the dead end. There is a gated fence at the end. You can go around it to the right. Follow the fire road up. As you are going up keep and eye out to the right you'll find that step up jump. The fire road will be turning left near the step up jump and you might miss the jump, you almost have to look backwards near the left turn to see the jump.

If you find the step up jump. Farther up is some really cool flowing lines. From the step up jump you go up the fire road. The road will go left then right. The lines are to the left near this area. Keep looking left as you go up you'll see them sooner or later. The best way is to go up there and explore. There is a lot of stuff to check out.

Killer pics! PNUT GALLERY! laugh.gif
