Ahhhhh yeahhhh!! That shot was from a state race on Maui. Glad to see I made the cut in some of the Hawaiian BMX history!
Jason Chang
Yeah but did you hear Terry's comments on the pick.

Changstar
Thumperpilot
Nope, I didn't see his comments and the site is down for maintenance. I can only imagine what he said. They guy always lived in a dream world. LOL!!

Picture of Derek at Keehi Lagoon going over one of those wooden ramps.
Jeremy K.
sarcastic.gif BC, I had a pair of those shorts with the checker board pattern too. I remember having to tuck your stuff to one side while riding since they were so short and tight. So funny to see what was the "in" stuff at the time. I'm sure one day we will look back at todays styles and laugh too.

jk
Jeremy K.
Anyone hit the KTown Pumptrack yet?

jk
Jason Chang
What's the K town pump track?

Changstar
Jeremy K.
Pump track they are building at Kalaheo. I also heard from several people that there are new lines at RS that are real BMXey.....their words not mine.

KTown Pump Track

Jason Chang
Looks like a few new places to check out. Are they BMX friendly? Both the people and the riding area.

Those mirror shades just scream 80's policeman. Maybe cause thats what all the ones on TV wore. The future was set.

Guys,

Don't forget the JUMP JAM at HK on the 22nd. Hopefully I can make it and take some pics.

jk
Jason Chang
I am trying to make it too, on a 20 might I add. I'll have both bikes, just in case I can't get comfortable on 20. Gonna try to fit in with the young guns. For me with jumping, the cruiser was always better for long far doubles, and the 20 was easier for getting sideways. So I hope I can muster some kind of style on a 20. Hope the word gets out, and even if you don't ride I would like to as many of you as I can. Just would be fun to talk story.

20....YES! You think you can get Moki out there? I'm working on a my 20/Jag too. But, won't be ready by the 22nd. Been trying to make it more retro than vintage. Hopefully I won't be fighting the bike when its new mods are done. Looking forward to riding 20 again.

First off all, da track goin' be off da hook! We've got pro sections galore and a crazy fast track. We leave this Friday to head off to Tulsa, should be one of the best Grands EVER! Rumors of a ton of Olympians there (even Mike Day is supposed to help us build) plus, many foriegn riders in town. Chang, I'm not sure if your intermediate skills would be able to handle this track, maybe KLau could? Anyways, I wish some of my island boys could make it out, it's going to be good fun!

-Leasure
Jason Chang
Oh I know I am not ready for something like that. But the old holeshot road block technique works well, but you won't have many friends. You can bet if I am gonna race something like the grands, I will be riding alot first. Maybe I will even race open so maybe you can say you beat me once. As I hide your jersey and helmet before our semi, hahaha. I thought about hitting a race next year, but right now I am planning to go to some Filipino wedding.

Vish posted this in the shoutbox on dhhawaii........ biggrin.gif

Chang,

You've been outta racing for a while now huh? There's a new rule called the "30' foot line", that holeshot thing and cutover is a thing of the past!

I hear the Flip wedding is going to be a big party?

Wow!!!! Rockne you hear that! 30 ft rule.......TEEEHHHHHEEEEE..........Add that to our endless childhood argument..........CHHHHHEEEEEHOOOOOOOOO! diablo.gif

Just kidding! drinks.gif Cheers Bro!

jk
Jason Chang
Yes I know the rule. I am good for a least 50 feet before I get tired, ha haha. So about 50 feet is where the road block starts. I heard the grands is over 1,100 feet, so thats about 1000 feet to long for me. Just call me winner of practice, where you only do the first straight then shut down and try to look cool. While trying to look cool I will be looking for the medic so I can use their Oxygen tank.

Changstar
KennyBrown
Jason,
I am so with you on the stamina thing....... I can barely make it to my daughters school without gasping for air and the sad thing is I think it is mostly downhill. Pretty much walk the bike home.

Went out to HK today. Rockne Where TF were you? If you guys are going to hit the new booter on sat bring your helmets. That thing is nasty.

Hey everyone, I hope its cool to jump in on the conversation. I am new to this forum and my name is Jesse Ramiscal, but not new to BMX. Its petty cool to see that there are still some hard core guys out there. I use to ride a Skyway TA with those Graffite tuffs........All you guys from MILLS, I would love to ride but I probably going be way in the back.....
Jason Chang
Welcome Jesse. About time you finaly found us. So you save anything from back in the day? If you read back you can find Klaus, Sug, Slavey, Shohara, and more. Getting together this Sun for a ride if you wanna check it out, you don't have to ride. It's fun just to hang out, I know you can bring the sounds.
