BC,
I really love the newpaper clippings. Thank you for posting them. I read thru every one and try and remember the race. Or maybe I'll see a name that I haven't seen in ages. Or sometimes I'll see a name that may be someone I know now. Like on one clipping I saw Cade Oyadamori's name in 9 novice I think. There's a firefighter with that name. I haven't asked him yet. But, I'm willing to bet it is him. I'm sure there are people in our adult lives that used to ride and race.

Jeremy,
That firefighter name sounds familar. I think he has a brother and he also raced. I think they used to race for the Stan the man from JT Racing.

Thanks for the continued photos and scanned results, very cool memories:-)
There is a firefighter guy I met named Billy and he knows Jeremy too! This guy is cousin to Bobbie Lau, my g/f boss..
Here is an old pic from University of Hawaii, down by where the new baseball stadium now stands:

Hey P, yeah if you can talk JK into parting with that Badd it is an awesome cruiser, and chromo too. If not let me know, I have quite a few items in my garage, including a cruiser. How tall are you? that way I know what stuff will work for you as I am 5 foot 8, so much of my stuff is set for me or I stopped using them cause I was too short. Then again if you want the feel of the old days you may want them slightly smaller cause that's how things were BITD. My cruiser has top tube of 22" which was too long for me. I am sure you are familier with sizing as road bikes are even more specific. Sounds like you are still hard on bikes so chromo would be a good choice depending on how crazy you wanna get. For me, I am lighter and waaay less crazy so I am on more light weight racing stuff. I figure my harshest day riding today is nowhere near what I did 20 years ago. I must admit having a light bike makes me feel faster than I really am. Yeah put some easy gearing on so it looks like your feet are going really fast, ha ha ha. I am sure in no time you will be one of the FFF. Fast, flat, & over forty.

got it from bf. i'm helping them build the new waipio store. the 24's were custom, but chris like it so much that it will be standard for 2009. one thing, supposedly can't run small front chainrings.

just finished a 1982 proline 2 f&f
Klaus, when are they going to open the Waipio store?J said it was supposed to have been open on the 4th of July weekend.Their sign has been hanging there forever on the wall. Are you there everyday?

P,
KILLER TABLETOP SHOT! You are my idol! Thats my one goal - to get a pic tabletopping. But, I just can't get it totally flat. It's driving me bonkers already! Be cool to have that one shot to show my son and tell him........look I wasn't always old and feeble!
Russel mentioned to me that there may be some sprint races coming up this month. 150 yards. Will have a BMX class too. Not really my thing but if there is a BMX class I'll enter. I figured I would spill the beans since Russell dosen't post.
Better start training boys!

Yeah get in the dirt early. You will be shopping for that Micro mini soon. I was nuts, I was shopping when my daughter was 2, but it took over a year to piece together what I wanted exactly. E bay was my friend, since there was no way I was gonna pay ful retail, and I used a lot of road bike stuff to make a 10.25 lb bike. Never ever got it all the way done, could have maybe lost another half a pound. Should have took a pic when it was all together, still have it all, but apart. Coolest part was the wheels were wheelchair wheels and were 18X1, which now you can see at many tracks. Very light and smaller and closer to the ground for those short legs. Also used only 14 spokes per wheel and they were TI.

Yeah, I'm hoping he will be into it when he is older. I have a minigoose frame squirreled away for him. If he gets into it I'll build something trick. Maybe not as light as your daughters one. Wow that is super light!

I was wondering when someone was gonna hit da skateparks there! I ride park alot here in Calif. my best advice is to find lines almost like dirt jumps, only thing its permenent because its build on cement now. I was watching the Odyssey video Electronical and it has some riding that was done at some skateparks in Hawaii and a wooden halfpipe some where out there. Find some good skatepark riding dvd and learn from them. Have fun!
