I wish Dave Christensen would hop on board so he could tell folks how he was # 1 ABA pro for a while (82)?

The ABA switched to age group national numbers?
cheez
I don't recal them having state #s back then for am's
Randy
The ABA has always ranked all ages together for national races and all ages per state district for local races.

Sounds like your thinking the NBL or other?
HinkDog411
My best was #21 in Vet Pro in ABA (when it was a Cruiser class) at the end of '97. Other than that, I got #47 last year in the NBL in 35-39 Cruiser.

Hink dog you suck, #47.....

oh yeah, I got #48 behind you, I guess I suck.

BITD I had to wait until the NBL riase national plates from 1-40 but in 1988 I finally got a national number (#36) on Cruiser, I was 18years old at the time and I think it was the largest cruiser and 20" class in the sanction that year.

I always have been and probably always will be a moto filler nationally, now I just add number plate maker to my title and have more fun meeting and greating at races.

Yeah Stu, we must just suck, huh? That was a heap of fun at Louisville, though, wasn't it?

It was definitely great to meet you and all of the B.S. we traded before and during the event. Is there a West Coast chapter of Team Moto Filler? If so, I may have to jump ship!

I'm ashamed to say, I had to go into the attic to make sure I get my years right:

1984 National #10 14x
1985 National #2 15x
1986 National #13 16x

All are NBL age group rankings.

The ABA has both total National rankings and NAG (National Age Group) along with district.
Silver plates with black numbers mark your NAG finish. (Top 10 only I think get to run it).

The NBL on the other hand burped the big burrito back in the day. It listed the top 500 in the entire Nation.
I couldnt tell you where I finished in state in 1979 or 1980. They didnt publish the darn points. I was so &*^&% frustrated after 80 I never raced NBL again.

borntooloose
I think I only race 3 or 4 nartionals back in the day-I'm out

Well.....Never got a National Number, could never go to that many nationals.

But in 1994 became WORLD #5 in Toledo Ohio in 15 Cruiser! Kevin Royal, Chris Acacia and so on in my gate. I was the only Non Factory Sponsored rider in the Gate! Plus i made it to my Semi's and finished 5th in 20".
protour77
I only got one national number and I think it was from 88 or 89. I was #36 in expert class of what ever age I was at the time. I was never a huge threat but I had fun and have some awesome memories.

NBL National #2 25-34 cruiser in 1985
NBL National #2 28-33 cruiser in 1988

I believe the age classes are right. I also earned several other NBL top-10 national numbers sprinkled throughout the late 1990s, along with dozens of state #1s and top-10s in Mississippi, Georgia and Florida...

By the way, earning a number plate in the Florida State Championship series was actually more difficult than earning a NBL national number in my classes... tough comp down there to be sure... smile.gif
