How did it get Stolen? You always ride it around the swap looking for all of the good deals?
Sorry Bro

nitrotwang
Troy, had it leaning up against a fence like everyone else, while checking out some swap stuff about 3 feet away..

Long Beach is a haven for gang bangers and illegal aliens. I bet whoever stole it has no idea what they took.
nitrotwang
Yeah if it shows up there will probably be a new basket bolted on front and some training wheels.

Thieves rely on a bicycle being left on 2 wheels & the owners back being turned for 5 seconds or more.
It's called "oportuntity theft" or similar by LEO's

I hate hearing when people have their bikes or anything stolen & it's always the same story , I leaned it against a post , turned my back for a
second......

BITD & even now I always park my bike upside down , no exceptions , the bike is no longer a target for "opportunity theft" , it is near impossible for a lazy thief to casually wheel it away from behind your back & disappear.

I hope the Robinson turns up soon , your fortunate (in a way) that old school bikes stand out & word of mouth from here should get a lot of eyes looking out for it on the streets as well.

Had that happen to my race inc, keep trying PD they get so many bikes and have so few poeple to check them. Many times they slip through the cracks and wind up at auction. My race inc was recovered by Glendale az PD and given to a shop that was doing a Bike Angel Program, it was parted out on Ebay to help fund the program. I was just lucky to find it. I contacted the seller and from my highly detailed descriptions and members of the board contacting him he was shure they were mine, and returned all the parts, a very stand up guy. If it winds up at PD some how don't get your hopes up that it will look like it did. They don't handle them with love like we do. All my anoed parts are now faded and need to be redone, and there are numerous scratches and chips. I hope it works out for ya and you get it back in pristine condition. I know what you are going thru.
