Perhaps this has been discussed before. But I thought I would let all you Quad Angle fans see something I discovered while working on "The Motocross Files". I use to work at and race for Scot and Mike at SE but never heard if the Metisse was the inspiration for the Quad. It definitely was around before the Quad. Maybe Scot had seen this in his moto days.

i read something many years ago where one of them said the idea came from motorcycles. it may have been in one of the BMXA test articles. the term "inverted headtube" or something comes to mind.

My recollection was that Scot got the idea from the front end of a Yamaha roadracer. The "inverted headtube" design made the front end more stable when diving into the turns....less head shake. Not to mention it was the toughest looking machine on the track!
