Just joined the site after hanging around the museum for a while and am getting into building a couple of 80s era bikes (PK RIpper and Elf DOublecross).
I raced a ton in the 80s, mostly all NBL. Hit the national scene from 83-88, earned a few national numbers as an amateur (mostly 20-40 in rank), turned B-Pro in late early '87 and also raced some Pro Cruiser and an occasional Pro Open. I never really had A-list success, but made some mains, got some top 3s and had a blast. Here are some pics from mostly 85/86,and one from the 88 NBL Grand.
If you are from OH and 16 in 1986, we likely raced each other somewhere or another.
Murray World Cup in 1985. 85C on a GHP:

Waterford Oaks MI, 85C on a Cycle Craft:

Christmas Nationals in Columbus, 54C on a Free Agent:

1988 NBL Grands over the pro section in practice:

This site is very cool. I can't wait to turn over a few rocks and see what kind of cool things are here - and maybe meet some folks I used to race with.

You still have any of those rides?

Not even one. I know exactly where the GHP cruiser is - my best friend has it. He doesn't want to sell it,but hopefully if he does, I'd get first shot at buying it back.
I had a lead on my Free Agent Limo in the Grands pic, but it hasn't turned up much. I don't have a clue where the 20" GHPs or Cycle Crafts ended up.
I'd love the get my Free Agent 20" back. The cruiser would be cool to as I was actually ranked in Pro Cruiser while riding it.

Cool pics and welcome to the site. Did you race any east coast nats? Depending on the race date we raced in the same class(b-day is in Oct). I might have been in the class under you thou but probably race in cruise together?

About as far as I got to the east cost was PA - Southpark and Northpark. I also hit the indoor national in North Carolina once, but never truly to the coast.
I have tons of pics, just need to keep scanning. I'll try to post more as I have time.
