I recently picked up a complete Mongoose M1 Mini, looks to be from mid to late 80's. Looptail in chrome. QUestion, is this frame chromoly or just mild steel? I can't find anything saying yes or no. It's definitly a mini frame with really small bars but it has steel pro-class wheels with a coaster brake. Fake pro-class stem, the two tone one and crap one piece cranks. Is this a chromo frame set with cheap parts or just a cheapy complete? Thanks for the help!

I'll post a vin for this tonight. The frame/ welds look to be high quality, it's just the parts group that is throwing me off. Thought there'd be a bigger response to this!?

I don't mean to hijack, but if the M1 was entry level, what was the FS1? entry level Freestyle?
Anybody know anything about the FS1?

FS1 was Mongoose's first freestyle bike. It came out in `86, and besides being the first, it was Mongooses only freestyle bike in `86.

what's the general opinion of it for a collection?
I think i can get a green one, all original parts, but not sure what would be fair and if it's even worth having.
Besides the rotor any othergood parts on it?

I've seen them go for $30 to $130 for complete mint condition bikes. If you are looking to retire on something, this bike isn't it
