I'm sure this has been asked before but here goes again.
What are the differences between stamped and unstamped Landing Gear forks? And what is an approximate value?
A woman came in my shop today with some old parts. She just got layed off and is trying to make some extra cash so I told her I would find out if anyone would be interested. They are Chrome unstamped forks with the stickers still on them. The dropouts are in fair shape but the rest of the fork looks great.
If I could get a couple of pics of the dropouts I would appreciate it. If anyone is interested in them let me know. If not I told her I would post them on Ebay for her.
Thanks for any help,
Jeff

Jeff. Very interested in them.................
The first LG forks were unstamped on the bologna cut and had 3 holes in the dropouts. The drops were very thin so after 81 and 82 they doubled the thickness of the drops. In 85 they used the same drop but had a vertical SE stamp on them. In 87 (85 & 86 were really one model year for SE) They went to the two hole thick drops with the horizontal stamp which is still being used today be SE. In 94 or so they went to the 1 1/8" threadless design and in 99 the dropouts had no holes at all. Good shape chrome 1" unstamped forks are good for $100-$150 depending on the overall shape.

I'll see if I can get some pics for you guys but they do have very thin dropouts. I know that there were lots of copies of those made and I didn't want to try and pass some as the real deal.
I'll get back in touch with her and let her know.
Thanks for the help guys.

Yeah those look the same. Solid weld on the outside and three welds on the inside. I'll see if I can get some pics. She also has a chrome Hutch laidback post that is in pretty good shape. All of these parts are on a Pro Raider frame.

Well guys the owner stopped in the shop this morning with her boyfriend. He has convinced her to just post the stuff on Ebay. I think he sees $$$$ for himself. LOL
Anyway, she asked if I could post the stuff for her. I really tried to convince her to take the offer she's gotten already but her boy/manager insists otherwise. So I'll try to get them posted today and she wants the reserves set at the current offers. Good luck guys.
