OK here's the story.
This frame belonged to my older brother’s friend BITD. He purchased it through Mail order I'm guessing.
I saw him at the local track about 6 months ago riding the bike with his kids, he said he still had everything and he lived just down the road. My eyes lit up (yes) Happy with myself and quite of course you don't count your chickens.... He said he was in a hurry but he will see me next week. He didn't turn up . The next he didn't turn up .
Anyway a couple of weeks latter another VBMX member started to tell me this unreal score he had just got. Yep the GJS. Dam
We had a gathering today in Australia and I was looking for something different to show. Dirtboy and I race still and ride together a bit, he offered the frame and some parts to me for the show.

So here it is. Original paint and most of the parts have just been reconditioned.

Hope you enjoy it cause I did. Thank Dirtboy

That's super-tasty! Excellent pictures as well. Looks long and mean in that first pic. I like it! Thank you for sharing.

Very Nice! I like it alot. There really doesnt seem to be a lot of GJS out there. And the BOTTEMA's take it to a whole nother level.

Awesome bike. Love the Bicycle Source decals.

You gotta ride that one right?
Mattblack
I'm guessing that's were the frame came from and the shop wraped the shop sticker around the frame.

As for riding yes only on the flat with my boy at the moment (out of the way dad). I'm sure it will get a run on the track.

I once picked up a GJS frame at Roberto's that was ready for powder an i couldn't get over how light it was!! Could you buy them from a bike shop in Australia ???
2elliot
That is a very cool looking bike, nice one.
COASTY
I'm sure you could Scotty. One of our other mates had a Candy red frame too. It was a very nice bike. I'm sure when rohan finds that one too you'll see what I mean.
Keep_It_Warm
The black seat and grips look SO much better than blue. I bet most people would have picked blue for those pieces....yours was an excellent choice!
caferacer
hey mattblack are you racing that old girl at castle hill next week ? longer top tube than your standard !
mushkow
curious: Are those authentic BOTTEMA's or chopper specials?
velocidad

Sorry about the question. Just ignore it. shouldnt of asked it with a repro thread going. Do not want to take away your thunder from the build or create a witch hunt. My apologies.
standardracer
Rohan , Looks good I like the GJS bikes I recently picked one up from a guy that used to race for Robinson. I got it cleaned up and put on different cranks but the rest is original. I took it for a ride and you wanna talk about frame flex its no wonder alot of them broke Mine gets ridden but not at the track . Heres a pic , Enjoy SK

Well leave a bad taste in my mouth. I guess I won’t bother sharing my bikes. Between my brother and I we own 5 sets of bottema forks purchase from the USA. Not that I should have to, I CAN LIST THE ITEM NUMBERS IF YOU WANT. I accept your apology mushkow.

Thanks for ****ing me off.
Mattblack
Well 10 hours later I have calmed down a bit.

What are you people on?
If and I say if, I had repo stuff I would list it as a repo, that would be the thing I would do.

Thanks Standardracer thats a cool GJS
Dirtboy
Nice!! can you show us a pic of you bunny hopping some tyres on it? OS style......
caferacer
hey guys one of my first buddies in bmx was the importer of bottema forks into australia in early 1981. most things that where available in the u.s reached our shores. not everything is repo down here, lots of good stuff made it here.
Kurt.
In fact there's very little repo stuff here. There's a whole lot more in other places in the world...
BMX2112
my apologies Matt for thinking they were JC repro's, the GJS is sweet man and the OG Bottema's are off the hook! I'm also a GJS owner and mine has SE Landing Gear on it. MY GJS
