I just got a DB Turbolite frame on eBay and was wondering if anyone has a spec list of the parts that were used to build up these bikes from the factory? My son is 2 and I hope to have this one restored for him by his 4th b-day. I have the frame, the Turbolite stem and a turbolite chainring.
Does anyone have the correct forks they would like to part with?
Also, anyone that can post pics of these bikes would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Brandon

Brandon,
The Turbo-Lite came as a kit that included the frame/fork, headset, brake caliper, cable, and tech III lever with a funny gum rubber cover, handlebars, and stem.
The head tube takes a road bike sized head set, you won't be able to get normal heaset cups into it. I think the original was a Tange "Aero".
The way that it was built up for a feature in BMX Action was:
TL Frame/Fork
TL Headset (Tange Aero)
TL Chrome Hinged Stem (will only fit the TL)
TL Handlebars
Black/White Oakley B1B grips
TL Brake Set (by Dia-Compe, Chrome, a road bike caliper with the "arms" reversed, Tech III lever with Gum rubber cover, and clear housing teflon lined cable)
TL Chome Crankset w/TL sprocket, black alloy chainring bolts, and Turbo Crank dust caps.
TL Bottom Bracket
TL Rims (1.5" made by Araya 28 hole)
TL Hubs (loose ball w/oiling clip, 28 hole, by Suzue)
(Chrome spokes, black alloy nipples)
TL Tires (1.5" Comp III's by Mitsuboshi w/DB logo)
Izumi black/silver chain
DB (by SR chrome or polished seat clamp)
DB Seat (Kashimax MX w/DB logo)
Black/Silver fluted aluminum seat post (though a Uni Hammer Head or Uni-Mini looks WAY better)
Black DB frame and stem pad
Since it was a mini and was never offered as a kit, you could pretty much build it any way you want. But man they sure look pretty when you do them up like the DB factory shorties ran theirs.
Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send you a picture of the on I had, or search the forums under Diamond Back, I posted all of my DB's at one time.
