I disagree with the way older call. Early Cookc BMX cranks never had the groves machined into the sides.

I cannot tell from the picture but if the back sides are milled (half-moon shape), they are RSR cranks. Made in the early 90's.

These cranks came out in 1990-91 after the original cook bros sold to the jerk that owns CBR now. They were sued by jack(<-new owner) for basically copying what they sold him the rights to, the design and right to put the cook name on bicycle products. Soon after the original cook bros changed the company name to cqp=cooks quality products. Then they changed the ends to an oblong shape at the bottom bracket side and a diamond at the pedal boss. All cqp dog bones had the milled sides.
Oh and definitely not cbr rsr cranks.
