Here you go, the pads came the other day so its finished although the chainwheel will be chainged to a black one very soon.
I have had the F&F since 1990 when I bought it of Hutch Factory ride Ashley Duffy. It had the chrome rims, Hutch bars also.
The Aero speeds were scored back in 98' for an undisclosed sum that would make your eyes water!, the hubs shorlty after and the rest just here and there.
The IBMXF World Championship plate is original and came from Melanie Vauvelle, I believe she got it from either Tim Judge or Steve Veltman after the World in Holland (cant remember the year at the moment!).

great build!
Just fantastic.
BTW the plate is from 1983.
HERE you can find a article about the Hutch Team in 83 when Steve Veltman used the same plate!

I was gonna say you must be from Europe with the rear brake lever on the left.
Awesome Hutch.
Screw the chrome Arayas - the chrome Ukais are much harder to get and look better I reckon.
As for the red chainring - I like it - it carries the red touches through nicely.
Pre-serial XL24?
The undrilled forks are a nice bonus!

In fact I'd change the black seat and seat clamp out for red ones - that would look hot!

Hey John - that's awesome - really well done. Talk about a longterm project - fantastic results!! Are they Tom Barone's pads - I'm rapt with mine.

And just love the details - the Hutch suite, Aerospeeds, yellow label comp 3s, rad kaps. I'd hate to see what those parts would go for on the Bay nowadays...Serious bling.

Wow, reallly nice, but find it odd the pro racer decal half way down the loop? Sweet ride, and I like the red ring as well.

The "Pro 24 Racer" decal on XL24's runs a bit lower on the brake stay than standard Pro racer. Not sure why, but that is how I have seen them in old tests.
But with Hutch, it seems that everything has slight variations so there are probably some out there that run the decal up near the brakes.

Hey
Glad you kids are liking my XL24. I cant believe how sweet it looks. The build has been going on for so long now I was worried that when complete it would be and anti climax, but it just isnt! Its great to look at it everyday.
The history goes back with me to. I won a UKBMX National aboard this F&F, although many of the parts you see were not on it back then.
The black caps are sometimes seen on |Aerospeeds in the magazines from BITD, but I get they were one of the first thing to get lost or thrown away!
The pads were traded with a friend of mine who had a number of Hutch builds. Yhey are repops but I'm not sure whre they came from. I think he had them produced over here in the UK.
As for the red touch, I always had a thing for red and white Oakley B1B grips. Probably because teh Hutch factory guys used them so much. The build was always gonna have that touch of red for that 'factory look'. Imagine my exitement when I scored the IBMXF WC Zeronine plate a couple of years ago!!!! I knew exactly where it was going!
Thanks for your kind words.
