Lets see what you guys have done with these set ups. I'm thinking of putting a Browning or Suntour set up on my CBR Cruiser and would like some inspiration. Any pics, mag ads, what ever you got lets see it. CT

The Browning is crazy money. I spent 250 back in 85. And that was at cost to my shop plus training. Nice stuff though

Dragula, did the Browning set up work ok for you?
I've heard they are really tricky and cantankerous to tune along with being expensive.
One of the track dads BITD set up the Holeshot on his son's bike. He was a really small, skinny kid with a lot of guts and a big heart, so nobody said a word about him having an unfair advantage or anything, we were just stoked that he wanted to race every weekend. Anyway, the Holeshot set up was pretty trick. He held in another small brake lever to keep the derailleur in the easy gear, once he got out of the gate he'd let go of the lever, the cable would slack and the derailleur would shift to the harder gear. Pretty sweet.

There is a guy on ebay who is closing out the browning setups. He had/had the shifter, rear tensioner, and the 2speed. All nos and all in seperate auctions. You can get the whole thing for about 60 total

How about running a Bendix Automatic?? Its a 2 speed kick back hub...all internal, no gears, shifters, etc. Just kick it back like a coaster brake and it shifts gears.
I put on on my Bassett 26" and I love the way it works...clean looking and very easy to use.

The bendix is nice but i want to use my cooks hubs. A combination of the browning up front and the suntour in back would be neat. But i would not want anyone to see me

Sorry bout the delay. The chain used was the smaller one of the two popular sizes for older riders. Once you get it set up right you wont have any issues with it. The nice thing is you can shift under full power coming outta the gate with no problems. I used to snap 401s and Turbo cranks and never had a missed shift. Yes I ran a shimano rear or a suntour which ever I had around when I changed gearing.
