hey ozzy, the C actually stands for Chatsworth. Just a headsup.
That other # looks like a personal ID number. Doesn't look factory but who knows?

cheers glen , i havn't got the bike yet but i already thought it was an "aftermarket" stamp . it was sold with the original chainring , stem ,crank , pedals , forks and a mx1000 back brake . i was already trying to get the ashtabula stem and crank for my 78 but got the lot for a good price .

the listing was "MRT mongoose racing team" but i never heard of a bike stickered like that with that serial # im just thinking a 77 goose with most of the parts

and thanks for the heads up on the C , i have another goose as i said here on the build that is C48 , i read in another thread that it was california-april-78 but chatsworth sounds good to me ....

chatsworth it is then !
