Any history on when these guys first came out, what products they made and when?
Know they made stamped and unstamped cranks, stems, frame and forks, and had a relationship with Schwinn and Mongoose but anymore details would be gnarly!
Have some chrome chromoly Astabula's from 1981 and curious what happened to them?
Thanks

I don't think Ashtabula made anything in chromoly. If you have chromed forks or cranks they're forged metal just like the black stuff.
The latest date I've seen on anything by Ashtabula is 1982. Earliest, 1975.
The Ashtabula frame kit was available around 1977/8.
The earliest Ashtabula stuff [forks, stems, cranks] were unstamped, later around 1978/9 they began stamping their name and Schwinn's name on the stems.
