I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me but I bought these decals because I believe I remember seing them on a bike around '81?? A friend of mine who was sponsored by Kuwahara had a blue one for a year then turned up one day with a chrome one with decals like these.
Am I dreaming? These are definately old (dirty and worn) on the back they say "oyama" I did a google search and it is a japanese bike company. Are there any Kuwa' experts here and can you tell me whats up with these decals? Any help would be appreciated.

I saw those on the bay as I'm sure a lot of others have. The seller also advertised some fluro pink versions too.
I do not recall ever having seen this type before, I must admit I just put themdown as being copies in different colourways!!

I am by no means an expert, but I have never seen decals like those on any Kuwahara that came through our part of the world. That is definitely an eye opener. Looks like I am learning something new...

Me too, I have never seen decals like those,....I think I saw some like those on Ebay. I have a feeling they might not be authentic.

I guess its more a question of how often anybody saw decal sets done in non-stock colors before mid-school came around. I've never seen them on a bike

I have seen lots of colored Kuwahara decals in the newer logos that were popular on the freestyle bikes from the middle 1980's till the 90's, but have not seen any colored old style decals like those. With computers today, its not too hard to go out and make your own set of custom decals as I am sure many of us have seen before. I have never seen those decals before in my life except for Ebay.

I have got a set of red and pink decal sets, and they look pretty authentic to me - I am no expert though, so it could be repro stuff. I'd be surprised though. If they are repro, they're old repro's.

Neil has it - they are most likely old repros.
I got a set of regular balck ones from the same seller and they look like copies to me (usable for a rider copies).
Check this though (I've seen pads on ebay in white with weird coloured logos like these):

That link Andy posted is one of Eventides amazing KZ-1 bikes. He made those stickers himself to match those pads. He isn't selling those on Ebay though, he made a couple of sets for his bike and sent me one set here, they are pretty cool. Check out this picture of his bike. Note things like the rainbow gradiation, the lightning bolt added, also the custom Suntour decals on the seat frame and the custom painted pink lightning bolt on the white Elina seat. The bike was painted in a custom red pearl paint but looks white in the pictures, in direct sunlight you can see the red shine around it. This is one of the coolest KZ bikes I have seen in my life. More pics and info of it can be found on my website or from the link that Andy posted above.
