To Tom Lund: Since it has been about two and a half months since I last asked, what is the latest progress update of the BMX News CD? Any estimate as to when it will be available and a hint at the price?

Thanks!

I too am interested in those CD's. The issue I got from RAMO 10/75 is getting a little worn out, and I dont want to wreck it! (Thanks again RAMO)
hey Oldtimer, I was born in The Bronx! But lived in Cali since '68. My Uncle 'WAS" a cop on the Bronx Youth Gang Task Force years ago
Bill
Here is the deal guys.

The BMX News scans fit on 2 DVDs.

They are scanned as jpgs so I don't need any questions like, "Will it open on a Mac?". They are straight up image files so no fancy software is required. I will however include a version of ACDSee image viewer for PC.

The cost is $49.95 plus $4.50 in the US and $9.50 outside the US for shipping.

Email me or paypal at bill@vintagebmx.com if you want a set.

Thanks for the interest!
Bill

Oldimer and Guy and FlaBMXCop and all you others that have hung with us awaiting these; the work is complete and Bill is ready to start payng off the expensive scanner he bought for this project. Please make it worth his investment .
Seriously, thanks very much Bill and all of you others that have stood by us while we tried this not once but twice. I hope you enjoy reading and studying them as much as I did from 1974 until late 1978.

First sorry Mr. Hand for calling you Mr. Lund! Terribly sorry!!

This is great news! You will get my contribution soon! Now that it is available you should put it in Shop & Stuff in the The Vintage BMX Shop so everyone else wont miss it. I was looking there all this time for it!

Hey Guy Mazza! Glad to hear from a fellow Bronxite. Careful of the Earthquakes out there in the land of fruits and nuts and BMX!

Got my DVDs yesterday and skimmed through the first couple years worth last night. Wow did that bring back some memories. Some even from the previous year before BMX NEWS even started. I could probably write a page or two about what was happening, highs and lows, other racers, different races (some races are vivid memories some are lost in the "vault"). Maybe this site needs some guest blogs about that type of stuff??

Anyway, if you are interested in some BMX history and don't have BMX NEWS from the beginning I highly recommend grabbing these.

Ramo, thank you for the feedback and I am very glad these are important for you too. I think as others get to review them and see some of the original ads and articles, they also will be amazed at how much history is/was involved in this sport.

In case anyone doesn't know yet the BMXN DVDs are now in Shop n' Stuff/The VintageBMX Shop drop down menu above. I did try to e-mail twice for instructions (mailing address, S&H) at bill@vintagebmx.com but I haven't gotten a reply yet!
