This and Dennis' topic are the coolest topics on this whole site, at least for me, these old pictures just take me back to 1975......way cool. John George was the 1st guy that I ever saw that had a 1.75 tire on the rear, that was at Randall Ranch. I was with the Silver Shield team and I was walking my bike with along with Danny Oakley and John and maybe someone else and I think Danny asked about, John said something about less rolling resistance, soon everybody did it and it went sport wide. Looks like he's riding a modified Schwinn frame with longer top/bottom tubes. I GOTTA get a scanner so I can add some pics to some of these posts. KILLER!

That previous picture was the last turn around the tree at Randall Ranch. (I think)
I remember thinking that early pic of John George with the face mask on was so cool.
I remember staying overnight at Randall and a bunch of us(I won't name names) removed the plywood from the starting gate and surfed down the start hill. Now that was fun!

Great shot of John and Thom. Doesn't look like Yarnell, I'm thinking Randall, sticking with the latest theme of recent pictures.
I never had the honor of racing this team or John and Doug. I only raced John with one time partner Bob Hadley at the great hack track, Rancho.
To appease gOrk I will post a hack story on my thread with pictures next week.

Wow...beautiful. John George and Lund. No ID on the other cats
Alloy rims 1975. Even better. Not on the pic but John George was the first guy to run a radial spoked front wheel too

Looks like Lund mght be running Motomags and he might even be on his Red Line looptail, Also, that Rick's jersey might be the last white style before they went to the red and blue jersey.

I draw a blank on the 295 identity. There is something on the edge of my grey matter that says I know who this is, but I can't shake it loose.
I'm thinking the holeshot and drive to the first turn at WSA must have been an adrenalin rush for this guy. I'll bet the aerodynamic duct tape on the visor to helmet helped tremendously.
I'm thinking his lead was short lived. What do you think?

OK now were getting enough people from the WSA era to begin planning a reunion, being as I have never went to my high school reunion because of BMX (not complaining) it would be great to plan one for the ol crew from WSA ..Have you seen Benny Del Carpini? LOL

I was on the gate at Saddleback with "David and Marvin", I actually got the holeshot, I enter the first turn and Marvin drives under me and takes me wide. He yells "Go David Go", David cruises by on the inside and I get a lesson in team orders.
It kinda sucked then but a cool memory now...

Ben, I was not at Perris in '99. The only time I have seen the BMX dinosaurs were at mountainbike races here in Mammoth through the years. Did go to Block Jam in Palmdale this year though.
Jeff, I remember that flag guy. Must of been the highlight of his retirement years!

Wow I havn't been on here in a while. This is some amazing stuff. Thanks RAMO and whoever else put some pics on this awesome thread. This is one of the coolest threads I've seen in a long time. It's about time you big-time riders started sharing your pics.
Seriously, why don't some of you other big-name riders from the 70's post your pics on here? I know that PK told me that he has lots of pics and I'm sure Stu and many other riders have a lot of pics too. Red Baron is sharing his pictures. Thanks Red.
PK, Stu, Bottema, Jeff Utterback, and countless others(you know who you are), will you PLEASE share your pictures with us? Well at least I said please. If you need help posting them I can help you no problemo.
Looking forward to seeing more old pics. They never get old.
