Fun Question?
Who was "Mellvilla Nurd"
and how was he related to Perry and Stu.
Reilley1
Jan 25 2007, 02:51 PM
Melville Nurd. Some kind of pad ad . PK and Stew were cool cause they ran the pads and Melville ran some other pads and as a result, he was not cool.
I ran the "other" pads...

Maybe Greg can help with this one. I see Rob Fehd on the far left and Steve Rink in the background after dropping the starting gate. Who are 142 & 61? I can't remember their names, they appear to be sponsored by Peddlepower.

#554 could give 2 girls a ride home from school with those bars. Maybe he started a limo service when he grew up.

Hey guys, look close at what you missed in that last pic. Directly behind #61 is a hidden Waldo. Or should I say hidden Stuart. I think he knew this picture would be printed here so he was hiding. Check out the size of his arms, the striped school shirt, the uncanny ability to lul you into a false sense of security and then blow your doors off.
Oh yea, it's him alright!!!

Sorry, we were too busy making fun of the guy with the 6 foot wide handlebars
Stu Thomsen
Feb 8 2007, 10:48 PM
I had skinny arms back then. High school seniors still kicked sand in my face. It must have been somebady else. My mommy hadn't washed my striped shirt yet. Must have been practice.

Brian, I believe his name is Mike Torres(#261 above)
I also believe he is cousin to a Liz (Torres) Hill.
I remember racing him at WSA and a few other places. There is a shot of the 2 of us on my thread at a race at the Villadrome up near the Van Nuys track.

Greg Hill
Feb 12 2007, 08:19 PM
I want to, he had a major accident about a little over a year ago and had to have 2 surgeries on his knee. The first surgery was a chop job and healing did not take place. Although he would enjoy the BBQ being gone for 4 days may take it's toll on him..Im not sure what to do at this point.

I remember they were taking a stab at BMX in the late 70's.
They tried it at the San Diego location too back then.

Johnny, the go cart track was at a place called "Golf 'n Stuff". Arcade, miniture golf, and this go cart track. This is pre Malibu Grand Prix. I think it was Marshall Wheeler who put on the races there. We only did it a few times, I remember the mains were multi lap affairs.
So, the picture above is what happens when we make multiple attempts at cloning. Cloning gone wrong...

Feb 14 2007, 11:08 PM
Hey I raced that day at Golf N' Stuff. Stu put a picture of Himself, Ramo, and me holding our trophies after the race. It was a 2 lap affair and it was almost impossible to pass.
I can name 2 other guys in the scoring tower at WSA. It's Jimmy and Archie Watson. Jimmy's the guy between Ramo & Stu and Arch is to Bottemas left.I'm not sure who the kid is.
That shot at the top of Saddleback is from the 1979 NBA Supernationals. Stu won the Pro class (on a PK Ripper). I was in 2nd behind him but I let Patterson get inside of me on the euro turn after Bonzai and I ended up in the pennant flags! That sucked! But Stu won and we were team mates so it was cool.
Stu let's see some more Dirtmaster pics!
