I purchased this frame as I felt I really needed a mini to go with the rest of my race incs. I know this has Race Inc stickers but the hole in the headtube gusset makes me think FMF. Any insight on this? The only Race inc mini in the museum doesn't have a hole in the gusset.

A few of those have surfaced over the years. A while back I had a blue one. It is a Race Inc. Bastian's use of whatever was around led to the creation on that frame. Must have been short on the head gussett for a short bit of the production run. The only thing FMF on that frame is the gussett the rest of the frame is pure late Race Inc.

Ya, I've had three of those RA8 Race Inc's with the FMF front gusset. Notice the RA serial number on the dropout. Definately a Race Inc. FMF never made a frame that small anyway. The few expert frames they built were still a touch longer than that.

I was pretty sure it was a Race Inc. Just have had quite a few of the frames and never had one with the hole in the gusset. Really needed a mini any way. I had all but quit buying BMX stuff then this one pretty much fell in my lap. Was less than a mile from my house.

Ya, the first two RA8's I had had the Race Inc front gusset, but I had three blue ano'd ones after that that all had the FMF gussett. Just sold the last one last week.
