I have had this for quite a while and was wondering if anyone knew what it was. Really cool frame and I think it is nickle plated under the orange.
DAN
I've had the same frame for years and have never been able to identify it.

Who will solve the mystery!?
vettefan
looks like a single gussett webco ? check the museum, i think theres one in there.
spike
Looks like it might be an A&A frame. Been looking for one for awhile but A&A's in the mid 70's weren't nickle plated that I remember.
Reilley1
Not a Webco for sure.
G-Flash
Nope not a WEBCO! Could be an early Laguna or an early Robinson. Maybe an early Raliegh?
Moosegoose Nick
Cycle Pro???
cheez
Rampar?
Curt
A very rare "single hole" gusset Hutch with equally trick "aero" forks.

Yes I am kidding.

mrraceinc, could you post a close up of the head tube gusset area, BB area and top view of the brake bridge/seat stay area?
revcore
What are the welds like on the frame? Neat clean welds and nickel plating would mean a quality frame I reckon.
I used to have an old Free Spirit frame that looked almost identical to that but instead of a round hole it had an oval hole.
DAN
Check out Reilley's CYC post.
Look at the gussett right behind the bottom bracket. Looks pretty similiar. I wonder who made those MXR frames for CYC?
mrraceinc
Welds are pretty decent. I would say they compare to a mongoose. I have a CYC as well. I should put the two frames together and compare them.

Hey Curt, here's your best quick lunch in Santa Monica tip of the day. Sponsored by the Becks Light I've been drinking for lunch. Go to Abbot's Pizza for the best slices in the world. I'm sure you already know of them. But, in case you don't, there's one on Pico blvd across from S.M.C. then if you want the funky ghetto vibe go to the o.g. one on Abbot Kinney in Venice. Cheers, Gonzobano

Blasphemy!

Nothing compares with early Mongoose welds. Those muffler guys ruled.

Not an A&A. I'd guess something like a CYC,Cyclepro,Raliegh,Rampar,Univega complete.
osrlracer
what about Sekai ? I'm looking at BMXPlus June 79 and the bike in the ad looks very much like your frame.
G-Flash
Sekai did not have a hole in the gusset and the cig box were rectangular like the webco and mongoose. The rampar had an extra small hole in the gusset like the 76 and 77 redlines and the cyc gusset is shaped different. What is it?
osrlracer
G-Flash, I'm looking at the ad right now and , the bike pictured DOES have a hole in the gusset. it's a complete bike , so I can't see the area behind the bb, the sprocket hides it. I'm not saying 100% that's what it is, I'm just saying of all the magazines and catalogs I have, the Sekai in this ad is the only one close....and no I don't know how to post a scan of it.
sprinter
what magazine? I might have it, if I can find the ad, I'll scan it.
G-Flash
Hey osrlracer, I'm looking at a bmx action july 79' and it showa a sekai with no hole in gusset but with 2 holes in dropout areas?
