jeffry1970, just real dusty like after a day at the trails. looked like it had been hanging up in a garage for 25 years. bmx2112, you know it ! he says, that's an O L D Mongoose you know?!?! yes I say, how much ? $40. I thought that was a real good deal !!!

I might be inclined to tell the story how I found a box stock, nickel Motomag around the same era (Ashtabula forks, motomags, etc), with a perfect, unripped Mongoose/Messinger seat at a swap meet for $35 and passed it up because I had yet to catch the vintage bug...

But if I told that story, I would cry. And I refuse to cry. Tonight.

I mean, stickers and everything...

And then, I scored a stock 1978 MX2 with the 2-hole gusset and an original Redline stem (i.e. gold stem style) FOR FREE and I traded it for a crappy Giant mountain bike to ride my kid around on...

Oh crap.

I'm crying.
BMX2112
Crying?...There's no crying in BMX!! LOL yeah I know how you feel. When I just started building and collecting again I found a white 80-81 Red Line MX-II that was stock down to the snakebellies and reflectors in close to mint cond. for 90.00. No cash that day so I went back to the Pawn shop 4-5 days later and they had sold it.
