quick heads up to the community ----
bogus JMC cruiser auction ---- zero feedback (rather obvious) loser scam, i contacted the actual owner to see if it was in fact maybe sold and being relisted by a new owner - NOT ! ..... i was assured the auction is a blatant scam - bearly even changed the prior listing description from when the actual owner tried selling it
just thought i'd share ---- careful gents holiday cons are in full swing

I see a member is the high bidder on it. Have you tried to contact him to give him a heads-up?

Question: how do these scam artists actually get the money without getting busted? PayPal requires name, address, bank account info, etc., and money orders actually have to be mailed to an address. Do these guys get phony identities? Or fake addresses? No, I am not going to become a scammer, I have just always wondered how these people get away with this stuff.

no doubt - sorry theres no link to the previous auction since he held it over 30 days back - i will write the owner back to see if he can have the auction pulled (i don't think they will pull it only on my suggestion) .....
i often wonder the same as to how they would get away with it ---- maybe they set-up a false paypal account to a false bank account (with an inside connection to a bank one can open a fake account without any proof of person, then withdraw the monies via cash machine or the like or withdrawal through the same teller) just a guess or they feed you some line as to forget the paypal after the auction and have you send a western union money transfer or the like --seems like allot of risk and truoble but for a couple thounsand its worth a shot, i'd guess-- theres probably a mess of ways ----- regardless, you gotta watch your ace in this game ..... the one good thing about being a pretty avvid seller is, i keep allot of tabs on things other then what i collect because i have to stay ontop of the relative market of all things since the inventory encompasses all things
sorry i killed you 'buzz', bmx ...... ba-room-poom .... but at least you can save your hard earn'd for when a actual one gets thrown into play

Question, if it was an original JMC Cruiser, what should it go for? Reason for the question, I just bought one, complete in great shape, for $1000. Included a JMC Factory helmet and bag. How did I do? Tommy.

you did great ---- would love to see a pic and hear the story behind the score --- whats the yr and serial ? we live for that sort of stuff round these parts --- they range from 1500-2500 in past yrs, but lately the market has doubled in volume and pricing, plus the fact so many are now savvy to the scarcity of the numbers that were produced - considering the last DYD and AP's that sold for over $2000, i would be surprised the next cruiser to list going for just shy or over $3000 ......

I just sent him the following questions through ebay. I doubt he'll post it... "How long have you owned it? Where did you get it from? So I know it's legit, take a picture of the frame with your hand giving a thumbs up in the pic. Thanks."

It's pretty easy. I got scammed once buying "game gold" for my son's online game.
They don't have the resources or staff and/or willingness to go after ANYONE. You send the scammer money, they send you nothing. They move the money so after Paypal finally gets around to investigating the complaint, the money is long gone. Paypal tries to get the money back out of their bank account. But if the balance is zero then nothing can happen. That's where the process ends. Pretty simple, you don't have to have any brains to outsmart anyone. You just need to be willing to betray the trust. If you think about it the whole Ebay/Paypal system is based on trust and feedback score and their is very little security and insurance built in.

The GOOD news is that your bank can refund you the money if youve been scammed, and they can do the work and research and go after either Paypal, Ebay or the scammer to get refunded on their end. I bought an RC truck once and a few days after payment I noticed several neg feedbacks on the sellers account (from others scammed) and then I knew it. I had to wait a week or two and try and make contact with the seller and resolve the issue per EBAY to satisfy theyre needs and then I contacted my bank. They wanted any/all info regrding the issue and then put the money back in my account the next day while they did the research. I think the dude was caught but I never heard back from my bank and the money was mine. Good thing cause I may have just got scammed again. TBC........

Thanks for the info, I'm glad I picked up the cruiser when I did. The seller was the original owner and did a lot of racing with my family back in the day. The serial #84C46, it is red w/ red forks and in really good condition.
