If you had a choice of a Mongoose 2by4 or a 83 Redline PL24 which one would you get for your collection??? What is the better bike??? Or is it just a case of brand loyalty ???

I have a PL24 already so it would have to be the Mongoose twofour.

That said, the PL24 is such a sturdy ride, I would be confident in throwing it around almost as hard as a new school ride. I guess quality of build wins me over:

therefore the PL24 is my choice

The most expensive one is always the best choice!!!!!! lol

I have never been a fan of Redline frames. But, I decided to build my first cruiser this year and after looking at alot of different bikes and reading old BMXA, I decided to go with a 1983 PL24. The top secret review of DD Leone's PL24 was awesome and every rider that tested it love it. I decided to build a PL24 over an XL24.

The frame is heavy but very well constructed and strong. I especially like the dropouts and how the tubing has been welded closed and the down tube is huge. One thing to note is the head tube is really big , so if you are not real tall ( I am 5'8") you need to run an inverted stem with low profile bars.

This is my favorite bike now and I almost bought a white one to build up. Definitely go with the PL24. The geometry on the 2/4 looks terrible.

If you are a mongoose collector then I think you have to go with the 2/4. My collection is a little more diverse. I love SE stuff but can't afford a looptail floval so I went something chrome that I can enjoy just as much. My next cruiser is going to be a 85 GT 24. Again not an SE but I know I will love it once it is done.

Thanks for the complements guys!
