does anyone know if they came black on black? if so...got any? 1/2" ha. shot in the dark.

Nope - they didn't come with black cages.

They originally came with anodised red, blue or gold cages.
Black graphite body obviously.
The first gen had round plastic end caps for the seals.
Second gen had square caps with 'MADE IN U.S.A.' on them.

They were offered with polished chrome cages later on which look cool as were the 'mini versions' which had the end of the cages 'cut off'.
