So my local BMX Legend John Nicholson(some met him at the Fall Brawl...helped Jamison adjust brakes) says that he was cleaning his basement. This is what you would expect to be hanging in the dungeon of a person so involved in bicycles for more than 25 yrs. Oh and he says there is more.... ....any ideas on the CYC Panther...year? We know it is tri-molly and serial starts 123...so maybe a Dec. 83? The Tange forks are original to the frame-set.

I think this one is a 1980 the serial number is 000123

Its probably an 80. Notice the old hed tube decal and the new style down tube decals. That was the transition period. MY brother had an original black panther F/F, only the finish fell off after two months and he got a chrome Panther frame with the newer CYC decal on the head tube. I have pics and I'll post.

Fun find. Did they start removing the gusset to lighten them up or just update to a newer look?
