Hey GT guys, lets post some bikes!

I know some have done the color thing (powder coat) and I've decided to do either red or blue with all polished/chrome parts.

Does anyone have a sample of these two colors? Are they metallic? They don't look like it in the pics I''ve seen.

Thanks in advance!

Mike Neville and Randy Chamberlain both built blue beauties. The pics are easy to search for here. Red is more rare (even as a repowder), but there is one on ebay right now.

Here's my 82 candy blue GT Pro.

Is it just me or does Greg HIll have a "Ron Burgundy" thing going on in that pic?
B. Apold
Thanks Santa- I did search for red and came up short which is why I posted a show all thread. I've seen the blue and thanks to the posters... that blue is stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my blue 83 Pro

funny thing is, when I built this, I kind of thought "this will be fun", but thought I would lose interest in it, being a 20. I was wrong. Out of the three bikes I have built, this one is the smoothest, and nicest. And it rides like a dream. My 12 year old son kind of thinks it is (haha, in his dreams)

I'm 1/2 way through my 20"GTpro build.. I just need some silver Suzee hubs(or similar) for it...anyone???
But when i get around to doing my 24" GT it will be based on JJr's and Mcam's blue color sceme for sure. Does anybody know where to get a set of those chrome GT pads????

Here is my 83 Nora Cup. I is originally black.
I am toying w/ black mags w/ all black GT tires or Black 36 spokes and a red repro pad set off e-bay

Mcam- The blue bike is spot on! I love it. Mine is like it now only chrome. I just aquired some Phil's for it so thats next.

1986- That black is cool. I though about when I did mine blue about also doing the bars and seat post like yours.... Hmmmmmm!
Randy
I restored mine with regular dark blue powder after asking the same question. Yea, the candy colors look better but this is how they were in 81-83.

has anybody bought a repro pad set off e-bay?
B. Apold
Randy, Your correct on the "appliance" blue color. The "electric blue" is really cool, but yours is GT specific.

I wish GT's came in orange back then. I like Orange with accents of chrome and blue. (GJS-ish)
billn
I know it's not a stock color, but yellow and blue just says "GT" to me. So I did a yellow one with blue parts.

That is so unique, I love it. Looks like catipiller sponsored bike! ps is that a 2.125 tire on the rear? (it looks beefy! I like)

This shows the red.

Damn, that red with chrome and polished goodies would be sweet and unique.... hmmmmm.

Anyone wanna trade a blue Haro flow panel for a red, black or white one? haaahaaa

Also note "epoxy" finish--as Randy alluded to before--this is a non-metallic finish. Save that for trick stars and expensive jewelry.
velocidad
thankyou very much santa ana!!!
velocidad
& if anyones tracked down a dulux (?) paintcode for the red - i'd be much appreciated too... cheers.
B. Apold
Thanks Santa, the non-metalic colors, I already knew. Not sure what I'm going to do yet. I think I've seen red once and it wasn't very appealing unlike the JMC red or whatever else there was. The blue is the same as the red, only different and not that great of a blue either, HOWEVER!!! it is the way they came and true to the OEM color I will stay.. I still think orange would have been nice.

I'm thinking red because not many (if any) have done that color.

This is my favorite look. Sorry pic is lame.

Better pic.

Thanks. Now back to discussing the colors.

Nice bike ^ I've seen that a few times. Looks like an Andy Patterson bike. LOL!

colors, ya, I need to see a red 20". I even search the rockford pics from past years, and no luck.

Check this though, I think it was in 2002 or 03, my actual 83 GT 20" is in there, now granted I sold the bike in 84 so it probably isn't, but I built that bike from the ground up and when you do that, there's little things that couldn't possibly have been dup'd... Hard to say, anyway I stared at that for 20 minutes, think'n, "is it" or "isn't it"... sweet huh?
SantaAnaMassachusetts
OK,
Here is a red 20" (NOT ONE OF MINE).
I was in my digital scrapbook of all things GT.
I think it was from the Elysian park event in 04 brought to you by a different website.

cool! Its to much red for me, but I get the idea now. I just want a colored F/F and thats it. Everything else will be polished, chrome and then Black GT's pads that I already have. Here's my bike minus the Phil's. I also have a chrome MX brake and level now. I'm thinking blue.

Another non-metallic powder job "epoxy" style: my black mini.

B. Apold
Are those decals ready available on the black bike?
SantaAnaMassachusetts
Nope. They are the opposire of readily available unfortunately. Got them in 2003.
velocidad
that red GT does it for me - very nice! thanks for the pic AC.
mcam
Everytime I see that mini of AC's I drool. The one GT model I would like to acquire is a 81-83 Mini.

Minis are soooo trick. That bicycle is a credit to you AC

Brad: I love the combination of chrome with black and blue. My 20" Kuwahara bitd was that color scheme, and I still like it now.
