Okay, I'm going to touch on a sensitive subject. We were all young once. It's hard to admit it, but we've all done and there's nothing to be ashamed of. It's part of growing up. No not that!! I'm talking about ghost riding your bike because you were p*ssed off about it or just for fun (again ghost riding and not the other thing).
Question is this - what is the most expensive bike (in terms of today's dollars) that you had the audacity to ghost ride BITD? I'll go first. I have ghost ridden my 1987 Robinson Pro Team that I have owned since brand new (bike cost me $603.00 back then).
Any one else man (or woman) enough to come to terms with the skeletons in your closet?

Probably my World Tour GT...can't remember the year but it was around 1986.
I was learning decades and went down hard (missing the toptube on the way around) so I sent the bike sailing into a tennis court net.
That thing did 2 flips before finally hitting the ground, snapping a lever and pulling the seat off the rails.

Haha! Great topic! My friends and I used to ghost ride our Huffys and Murrays all the time. Surprisingly I don't recall any serious damage to them. Once I upgraded to a respectable brand I think the practice stopped.

MCS Magnum 2000.Along the same lines,i had a Pro Thunder, had the MCS gusset traced,a new one cut,and welded it on to the Huffy. One day i attempted to jump a rail road tie to "impress" a few girls that were there.I hit the front tire, flipped, and broke the neck and bars.

Wow, barely even want to think about it.
1st - my RRS, flying 12' high out of a pit jump (ended up on my tailbone, not intentional ghost ride, but ended up that way)
2nd - my skyway TA, multiple times, once into a lake also

My buddy told me a story a little ways back about he and a friend taking the friends Patterson up a huge hill to Ghostride it. They figured it'd go about 20 feet and fall over. It went all the way down the hill, through the kids back yard and slammed into his back screen door. Ahh good times

oh man ...i had a buddy gost ride his stroker into a cop car once..had a tuff time explaing how he fell off the bike while it cruzed into the car..did nothing to the bike but he had to pay to remove the dent and touch up paint...
GHOSTRIDE::::To haul booty jump off the rear of the bike sling shoting the bike into a unmaned uncontroled cruz of destruction, weather its bike or target....we also played gostrider tag...and it hurts to get hit by a bike...lol...

I remember my first Ghostride experience....
Im riding double with my older brother driving. The bike was a stingray so naturally, I have my hands behind me holding on the the banana seat loop. I must have been about 6yo and my brother says "wanta play ghostrider?" and I say "whats that" as he slips off the bike out the side. I made it another 10 or 15 feet before I smashed and crashed into the blacktop. Older brothers suck!

Hmmmm... Never ghost ridden any of my BMX bikes i have today, but i do remeber when i was younger 6 maybe 7years old, and having a MIGHTY CHALLENGER (my first bike, it was a 16inch bike)
and ghost riding it into my school wall a few times...
bent the forks so far that it was pretty much unridable.... i blamed it on the fat kid!!!!!!
That was also the first time i ever worked on a bike too....at first i couldn't get the stem out.... didn't know u had to give the wedge bolt a little slap..... thats when good ol Dad came and helped me out.....then asked what i was doing, and what happened to my bike.... " Dad, PJ was riding it...." To this day...PJ was riding that bike....darn fat kids!!!! haha!!

ha. we used to ghost ride our bikes daily in my neighborhood cuz no one had a good bike. (the guys who had the bad *** bikes were always the older stoner dudes who stole bikes) we even tried lighting parts of it on fire and then ghost riding them at night.

Um, I ghost ride my current bike sometimes when something goes wrong, and the replacement cost on that thing would easily be over $1,000.

Almost the most expensive. It was 1982 I was on my torker with shimano dx hubs and brakes, ya gold ano, with zrims and hutch bars. Well we are camping at Bulls Island on the Deleware River. If any of you know this spot there is a Wing Dam on the river. We were riding out to the middle of the dam and jumping off into the water only about 3 feet deep where we werer landing, after about 5 or so jumps i got gready. Tryed a 360 off. and got cought in the current. Got sucked down to the deep part of the dam. I new i was when i had tried for the third time to throw my bike into the shallow area and looked up. All i saw over my head and my bike was water!!! I let the bike go, swam to the serface and when ohh !@$#*. Luckly a friend of mine was a swimmer for school and retrieved it for me. It was down there about an hour. I thought it was lost forever. Needless to say when ever i do a lake or river jump now i make sure my bike will float first!!
