It is a little known fact that the X-5 was actually the pre-cursor to the X-15 that Yeagar brought to unbelievable speeds.

The X-5 however, was not sophisticated enough to be dropped from a plane for launch. Therefore, the launches had to be done the old fashined way....

Great trajectory on the launch Brad!...Well done! Bravo!....

If you look closely you can see the mach vee (Shock wave front) building on the front tire, and on his forehead....breaking the sound barrier had no chance of remaining elusive once the X-5 was born with BA at the helm!....

How about these:

you should ssponsor a Stingray only race at the local track...you supply the bikes...That would be interesting. I'd like to see how that Grey Ghost would take those doubles?

Hey I never pass up a chance to show this pic of me on my sting ray from BITD. (Chatsworth park 1974) and also a pic of the bike I built last year. You know, to sort of replace my old one from the 70's.

the (1960 tiger frame) blue bike is going to be bmx'd soon to replicate my 1st bmx'r. It's funny I am just redoing my 1976 period. I had it new with Apes and banana then stripped it down. So, flash ahead 30 years and I remake a Apes and banana bike again only to strip it down ...again!? what's next? trading in my Lee bell bottoms for track suits?

Decker Rat Sean- I can't believe you posted that photo of me Hitting the sky jump.... LOL!!!!!

We used that same ramp to jump a 77 Suzuki RM 80 too.. until it snapped that is. We were big distance jumpers back then... haaahaaaa

Great pics guys.

Here is a mini Scrambler I also had BITD and I let the little neighbor kid try his luck at racing.... He ended up getting the bike for free if I remember correct.... Doah!
