Is this "NOS Kuwahara ET Basket" a real Kuwahara item or just a random white plastic crate? I see it does have slots where it could be zip-tied to a crossbar.

might have to watch the movie to find out

We could check it for ET droppings...

I'd wanna see some ET markings or verification before handing over the ponies for a simple bread crate.

Am I missing something here? I do not recall Kuwaharas being sold with the optional "ET" basket. The basket in the pic looks very white to indicate it is very new. It does not look like a plastic basket that has been sitting around for 24 years. I would be willing to bet the actual basket used in the movie is secured in an archive somewhere. I seriously doubt this is THE one.

Looks like something you might find behind Safeway..

I've been talking about that with someone else it looks nothing like the basket in the movie and looks nothing like the pics on Jamie's site. If no one recognizes it here as a department store E.T. bike piece, than I'd go with imposter.

pic from Jamies site (I don't know if it is a stock basket in this pic either)

pic from the movie

I'd expect thered be some if it was made specifically for the bike. I was going to ask if it had any but bidding has ended.

i think its just a generic crate for bicycles.
over in asia i can see this being widely used as most people in asia use their bikes as sole transportation and the extra "trunk space" would be very practical.
