Hey there- I just found this site and am looking for those of you who were around Nor-Cal in the 70's. My name is Rob (Robby) Fischer. and am looking for pics and stories from then to show my kids...ages 20-25

My pics and trophies were tossed some years back, and any links to Hank and Frank team would be great. By the way did anyone mention the Modesto "Freeway"...And Stockton? Those were real gems, especially when the wind blew the wrong way.
Here a clipping from the local paper back in '77. I wrote the word "NOT" after several disappointing delays.

Hi RandyS,
Posting a picture of a flyer for Mt. Lassen BMX, Shingletown Ca.
Also posting a race picture that was taken at Tehama BMX (indoor track) Red Bluff Ca. That's me with my pant leg in my sock! I'll emit it because when I look back to that RB indoor track, I think that has to be one of the best time periods for me. Of course not knowing it fully then. I hope to find more pictures.
Jack

A great time and place. We make a mistake of looking forward or back when we should be enjoying now. Today has enough concerns of it's own. I turned expert at red bluff indoor bmx the in the winter of 1983. They gave a cool wall plaque. Mine was wood with blue anodized metal with engraving. My Mom still has it hanging on my childhood bedroom wall.

These next few pictures were taken by Hans Thomsen (Stu's dad) in the Fall of 77.
This first one is at Vallejo.

#27 is Stu, #12 is Stanley Robinson, #36 is Scott Clark, I am behind Stanley.
First turn at the same track...

Iv'e got pics from Aptos from 1981 & 1984. I also remember going to the Scotts Valley BMX track in the mid-70's. I had a friend that lived down the street plus we would check it out whenever we would go to Wes's. I lived in Felton but don't remember any BMX tracks or races even though we used to go over to Henry Cowell State Park & have some downhill races on the asphalt.

I started racing in SoOre in 81 at Bear Creek BMX and the indoors track at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Starting in 82 we raced the NorCal in Yreka (ABA) and Shingletown (ABA), then in 83 and later headed further south and raced Marysville and Yuba City at their Silver Cup races.
Both the Yreka and Shingletown tracks were downhill with Shingletown being my favorite at the time. I know some of my friends would have some pictures. I'll see if I can get them to dig them up.

I raced the marysville "silver cup" also. I thought it was called silver cup but a fellow nor caler said it was the gold cup. I think the silver cup was sponsored by bandito. Does anyone know for sure that it was a silver cup? If it was the silver cup, what was the difference between the silver and gold cup?

I remember the 'Bandito' cup. Can't recall much about it, however I do remember there was a qualifier at Soledad BMX and the main event there was one of my most memorable, even though I ended up 2nd - I had hit the gate and come out dead last, made passes in every turn.
They had really nice trophies, that I do remember it was a nice big 4 post trophy that I kept for quite a long time.
