Well guys after months of part searching ...my Pattersons finally done ! It rides like a charm & feels soooo solid . Took it out on it's maiden ride last week @ the trails here in H-town in Memorial park & held it's own even though I had to keep tightening the headset . Sincere thanks to the following who I purchased from on ebay or directly to make this dream a reality :
Darren Chan
Ed Ferri
Ted Carl
Jeff Dence
sorry for no pics which is why I posted the following ebay link so you can check it out . http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=220025980964 I'm sooo juiced up in fact when the "daylight savings time " comes up here in Houston there's a "moonlight ramble " in which approx 20,000 cyclists converge near downtown & ride about 25 mi through the streets of Houston . Hopefully I will get my riding crew together & take the Patty for quite a spin ! This bike was built to be ridden hence the slight new school upgrades . A brief rundown of the parts list :
Frame - 1982 Patterson Long
Fork - Patterson
Wheels - Skyway new F/F Graphites W/ Kool Kaps
Cranks - Profile 3rd gen. 177mm (I dubbed them P3's as I believe 2nd's had indentation while flat / boxed on the backside of the arm as these are box,but rounded on corners )
Bars - Renthal year ?
Stem - Profile pro XL inverted
Headset - Tioga MX5 gold
BB - Profile gold hop up kit W "antifreeze " spacers
Seat - GT plastic DEFINITLY will upgrade to a MTB padded !
Seatpost - Poverty
Tires - Maxxis Bling ......perfect for the trails love the slight knobbies (or lack of ) on the center of the tire for maintaining speed on those fire roads !
I still have some tweaking as I need a front brake for the trails & have to get a slightly bigger shim for the BB , probably will have to invest in a headset lock of some sort even that headset looks killer stock . The box shown in one of the posted pics is the ORIGINAL one I kept when I ordered my 2nd '82 Patty from Hank & Frank BITD. Notice how good the front matches with the black stem & the bar clamps plus I think blue bars & gold headset really complement the headtube sticker quite nicly .

I guess it took some time for the ebay auction to actually start as there's a new way to list auctions , but heres the real actual link up & running . http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=220025980964 I took a pic of this certificate from a BMX clinic that I took sometime back in '82 I vaguley remember Perry Kramer , my mom actually found this & put in a scrapbook she made for me as a recently turned 39 on Sept 1st .
