Got a friend who scored a couple of Hutch frames.

This is one of them.
I'm not very clued up on what the alloy Hutch Mini looked like.

This frame has had a gusset welded over the BB where it was cracked.

Serial number is: 461746 with possibly a '0' before the first 4.

Anyone have any ideas?

Forks don't look Hutch.

check this pic and then have a look at the blue one - check the BB and the BB gusset - Hutch?

Not the forks, just the frame.

Did you pick it up in NZ, Andy? Tui Langford rode a Hutch alloy, only one I knew of in NZ.

Send that to Rod. They are rare as ph000. You probably know that by now!

The aluminum Hutch frames were available in both a Junior and Mini size in either black or polished. The black one pictured above is the Junior size which is like the one I own. The blue one looks a bit smaller so i am guessing it is a mini. The frames were identical; there were no added gussets etc. It is clear the mini has been repaired at the BB and it looks like the other main joints of the frame have been 'beefed-up' as well because the factory welds on the frames were much smoother. Definitely a sweet score and worth restoring. Finding forks for them is the real challenge.
