oldschoolcolo
Forks look like Mongoose forks I have on my Motomag.
Bill
FMF didn't sell blue frames.
Bender
Is that a sealed bearing headset?
firebird
Its eathier FMF or Race inc. and it is purple. I just thought it was an FMF because of the old decal. The forks are no way Mongoose look at the top of them it is exactly like my Nickle Redline forks and nothing like any Mongoose forks I have seen but I have never seen these drop out's before.
BRIAN HAYS
get some better pics of the frame please.

Here you go Brian

TIM
it's not an FMF.

the forks are not Red Line.
BenOr
Those are Decoster forks. They were not tured like the later forks.

I like the word "tured", Ben. It's a Race Inc. with BMX Products Roger DeCoster forks. Nuthin' wrong with that!
Steve Bourke
looks like it was "fixed" at the down tube to b/b.
firebird
Thanks guys but can anyone tell me the heck the neck is.
Thanks Rick

"race inc" head gusset along with "FMF" dropouts makes me think Laguna, perhaps. i just picked one of those up recently - except mine is a smaller frame and uses a straight downtube.

The gooseneck is an early Shimano SR (I think). I had one on my first Mongoose in 1976 (that I bought new for $12.00.)

I think the frame is a maybe a Cycle Pro spoiler (same as Race inc but made earlier)

In any case it is old with many parts from the mid to late 70s era. Nice.

Sakae Ryngo stem
BenOr
Om used one of those stems on his 1976 FMF.

I meant "Turned" not "Tured" above... Those are nice forks. This frame does the have the hole... for a kick stand! Is that "after market" or did some on them have a drilled frame behind the BB?

I'd have the hole filled and give it powder...
Curt
Reilley (Minister of information) 1 strikes again. I recall the SR part. Is at related to Shimano???
Reilley1
Not directly related to Shimano but part of the big wave of Japanese stuff that was originally brought in the mid 70s. The stem was sold as an aftermarket product by Mongoose. Rick Twomey (who was working for BMX Products at the time)has a 76-77 Goose catalog showing that stem and I just happened to see it this weekend..
