Jeff just sent me another box of magazines to sell. In the box were the first and second generation DG BMX Book of tricks. He included this photo from the photo shoot of book 1. No gusset DG 1 with OM and Utterback looking from the cheap seats (Gurney Team riders). Same park appears to have been used for the 2nd book of tricks photo shoot.
I dig this picture.

That has to be late 1978 or early 79. Jeff ran that plate in summer of 78. He's on a SuperPro there not a DG1. Funny thing is that frame is a 1977 frame that belongs to a member here now. Clint is on the cover of BMXA 1/79 with that bike.

Was Holyfield the track with the big starting hill and kind of short? In Aug 78, we went to a track that was in Norwalk (Jeff's Mom ran consessions I think) and I nailed the gate ****ing off a young Greg Hill who had just quit Schwinn...)

That's so awesome of you, Ben. Those shots are worth to look at. Cheerz, bro.

Holifield had a flat start and you raced up to a pile of dirt about the size of a small house which had some berms and a couple jumps. The picture above is the jump up to elevated dirt shortly after the start straight away.

Ben, You might be thinking of Fountain Valley?
Holifield (hey, I spelled it right this time!) always had great trophies.
Ramo's correct about the flat start. it actually felt uphill.
BTW Ramo, I'll be in Bishop for the fair next week. you coming off the hill or staying home?

We were going down for the fair one day. Are you just visiting there?

My folks live 10 miles outside of Bishop heading towards Lake Sabrina.
Going for a little visit and to rifle through my Dads bike stuff!
