Looks like an 86 or 87 GT XL or 24. Not 100% sure though. I don't believe the forks are correct, but i'm not a GT expert.

I'm not an expert either but ,,, that looks like 85-87ish mach one !! I had one in yellow !! I think that is an over seas model too ,,, at the time I had one, people would tell me over and over that "those are made in taiwan" !!! good luck!

86 frame?
Pretty sure those are earlier forks (83/84) which is a good find.

the serial # looks like it starts with "G6". if so, that makes it a july of 1986 built frame. japanese.

Doesn't that serial number have G6 "84" 226 on it? It looks like an 84-85 anyway, and the forks are 83-84. It looks like a complete era correct F/F. Run with it! The 84 and 85's were mostly USA made. It was 86 that went 100% over seas. Thats what I was told.

1986 Frame Japan made. The US frames had the SN on the dropout and read month/year/sn. The Japan frame was on the bottom bracket and the second digit indicates the year. As for the last comment about 86 that went overseas and 85 US only, that is not true as I have 3 performers, US made 2841397 (feb 1984, first month of performer production in Santa Ana, CA), a Japan made G5F6092 ( july 1985) and a US made 1860069 (Jan 1986). On performers only the frames have 3 holes on the rear dropout for 84 and 85 and 4 holes for 86. My guess is this is a 86 Mach one.

I wasn't clear on the serial number on this bike and if you say I was wrong about when they went over seas, I'm sure your spot on correct... I'm GT smart from 78-83 and thats about it. I was told that other stuff about the year 84 plus.... sorry guys.
