Way back when even the OM was young, we tried all sorts of things. Tanks, fenders, the whole bit.

Some of us tried gears. This is my version of that old bike. The brake lever pulls on the Sturmey Archer hub and changes the gears.

It worked well at the time but eventually became just part of BMX history.

The tank and fenders, well, let's just say it was fun imitating Decoster

this is a great segment of the vintage scene! I t goes against the grain of the normal High buck, low production exclusivity bikes. And talk about a nostalgic feeling!

Brings back alot of memories, when all we had to worry about was being home in time for dinner.

I remember trying to outfit our Schwinns to look like "CHiPs" Motorcycles. We took dowel rods and wrapped black electrical tape around them, then attached them to the back bar of the bananna seats.

I had blonde hair so I got to be Jon, but now as the old guy, I would probably be a better Paunch .

I love threads like this. No evil, and lots of great memories.

Thanks Reilly.

Way, way, way cool.

I had that exact same bike BITD.
Schwinn Stingray with mx bars (shims in the stem)
fenders, and a silver tank just like that.

Super cool.

I had a red tank like that on mine. For exactly one week. Some older kids saw me and laughed for days. That sucker went right in the trash.

Very nice build.
