I bought a GT seat post on the bay and it seems legit, it was said to be NOS. Could someone possibly tell me what markings are on early eighties GT posts. Mine is beautiful chrome, says -MAX.HT-
22.2 CR.MO and of course has a GT stick. Both ends of the stem have very nice cuts with the chrome overlapping to the inside edge. Any help would be appreciated, I'm just a skeptic sometimes, I also have a later year stamped GT post that is nowhere near the quality of this one, it just got me thinking..Hope the guy I bought this from dosn't read this and get offended.

gt early post have no stamp just the sticker might be a rechrome,,orginal stickers look amost purple if you look close in the background and is not a solid blue is the sticker beat up at all!!! I have been waiting to hear from you P?M me

Foreman, yea the sticker is atleast not perfect, I really can't describe it more than what I posted. Yea I tried to PM you and your box was full. I did find a nice set in great condition with original stickers for 25 bucks if you believe that. They are legit bars too. Thanks for your help though, good lookin out.

what i knew is that the earlier seatpost
has the GT letters stamped horizontally from left to right and the later version is stamped vertically both have the cr-mo and 4130 stamping
