doing a little research and am finding a whole lot of nothing.the eric rupe model was available in what years??i have seen white ones on here and ebay and now a good friend has found one in white and it is on the way to him now.i can find nothing about white being offered.i remember chrome ones at the shop,is it some kind of team bike??rupes personal??i think the other white one i saw here was thought to be erics bike.what about the decals, are they out there?or is this going to be another 5 year hunt??will vintage reproduce these??i was told vintage bmx are doing the bmx product stuff.

I doubt vintage will repro the stickers, not enough demand. Good luck finding a set, rare as hen's teeth.
I have no idea on the production numbers but they were suppossed to be a much improved replacement for the pro class. The Rupe came out in late 1983, into 1984 and I think was made until 1988...but I could be off alittle.
They came in white and chrome, no special team finish or anything like that.

Came out in late 84.
White and chrome finishes.
Continuted to 1988 where there frame was made in Taiwan.
I have a frame which I'm in the process of restoring.
I have a set of Pro Class forks to go with it plus most of the parts I need.
Thing is I've been tyring to find out if this is Eric's own frame before I repaint it.
It's probably not but he did come down here and race early 85 and it was common for riders to leave their bike behind.
As for the decals - tyring to find a set is impossible.
I was sent a top quality scan of the frame down tube decal by Alex Vesa which could be reproduced.
There are several small stickers exclusive to the Rupe which are also needed.
I doubt BMX Products would bother with Eric Rupe repros as the numbers are too small - who knows?

I also ended up with some original Pro Class parts (from the first Pro Class complete bike...)
> 180mm Mongoose cranks and spider
> Mongoose ACS stem (prior to being stamped 'Pro Class')
> Pro Class black chrome forks
> Pro Class wheel set laced to SunTour Subperb hubs

These parts will go on to my Eric Rupe.

Any of you guys can confirm my frame IS actually a Rupe?
It only has a single hole in the brake bridge, however the top tube and down tube are both the same size and the beefy version.
I'm thinking the single hole was on the first version of the Rupe (or if it was Eric's frame it could be a one off?)

Cheers...I scanned those decals for Alex. Hope someone can get them going...though...if they do be careful!

I was wondering who got a hold of that white Rupe from ebay! Auction ended early...nice bike!

Yeah - I saw that.
Nice.
I guess I have to get teh tape measure out to confirm my frame is a Rupe and not just a painted Californian frame...

Andy, yours is a Rupe if the top and bottom tubes are the same diameter and beefy (1 3/8?). Cali frames had thinner tubes.

1 1/4 and i also believe it is a rupe.

Yeah, 1 1/4. And the rear triangle tubing OD is 3/4.
I am puzzled however by Andy's downtube decals, noticably different than other erse bikes I have seen.

PK Ripped - the decals look home made to me.
The Oakley decals are actually screened onto the frame!
All very weird!

I have a set of forks like that. I knew they were goose but they are very light and only have single steer tube all the way down, not the common doubled up at the fork leg one
